Connecting offense and defense seems as dumb as pitch counts. Has to catch because he doesn't hit for power. Really? There's a tendency for big power hitters to play first because they aren't as mobile in the field and first base isn't as demanding of a fielding position so a player with a big bat and a so-so glove can add value in either league. Saying he doesn't hit enough home runs to play first is absurd. He doesn't hit enough home runs to DH, that might be true.

They were in tons of games this year into the 4th quarter...yeah, that's where it matters most, but Flynn was in/out, Love was injured a bunch down the stretch, Ridnour was too old to log the minutes he did, Darko is a B-ball version of Glass Joe. There's not much Rambis could ever do short of donning a uni and going in himself.
