So what will happen if say oh, I dunno, Aaron Rodgers doesn't make it out of the preseason and Brett Farve is a Jet/Viking/Buc by then? What exactly will happen to Mr. Thompson then...

The Pack are the enemy in Viking country, but come on! Even Viking fans want to see Farve in green and gold because thats always the best game of the year. And it sure will be after the two games last year. We don't want him in Minnesota we want to compete against him.
Posted Sunday July 27, 2008, About: Favre denies Vikings tampered
IN YOUR FACE TED THOMPSON

So, if even Farve said there was no tampering how the hell could the Vikings STILL get charged with tampering.

Maybe Ted Thompson should give one of his coveted draft picks (obviously he'll never spend money on free agents) to the Vikings for bringing them into this whole mess.

What a childish act to try and push focus off from green bay onto the Vikings, very immature.... The one thing the media will love more then Farves rise to the top will be the demise to the bottom

So, Viking country should have one thing to say towards anything Packers related: Faahhhhh Q

It is almost as if this Thompson guy is trying to get fired. I mean, come on, how do you go about alienating a fan base; disrespecting the most iconic player in franchise history; and to top it all off tell the all time leader in games started/touchdowns passed etc. QB that he has to back up some chump whose never started a game.

What do you possibly think will happen if Rodgers struggles against the Vikings on opening night when you retire a number for a player who isn't even starting??? Think Packer fans who own the team and control Thompsons job won't have a pink slip ready by halftime?

Farve owns the right to come back and be the starting QB of the Packers period. And, I'm a Vikings fan so that goes to show ya how much I could care less about the Packers. But, I know their fans and they will have Thompsons head if he is the reason Farve is either on the bench or in a different uniform
Posted Sunday July 06, 2008, About: Favre a perfect fit for Vikings?
Stay in Green Bay with the rest of the morons, the Vikings already had a QB who would throw a lot of touchdowns and then toss interceptions with the game on the line in Daunte Culpepper.

Real Viking fans would never want our greatest rival to wear purple and gold.

Oh, and Green Bay did offer Culpepper a contract which he turned down so that just goes to show how good they are at evaluating QB's.

Maybe if the NFLN had actual good programing then people would care more about it being on basic. After the Super Bowl is over the NFLN covers Indianapolis workouts over and over and over again. The whole network is basically pointless until the fall and even then ESPN covers the NFL pretty well. Some of the programing is intersting but a show based on the Top Ten team Nicknames is just stupid. Maybe if they actually replayed more then two games per week, and in actual length NOT one little hour long replay, I'd care more and watch more.

I'm sure Viking fans would tune in to watch the whole game of Moss' first Monday Night appearance back in 98'. Packer fans would TiVo the hell out of Farve's first game when he took over for the injred Majkowski or whoever. Steeler fans would probably love to watch the whole game when 'The Bus' ran over the Bears in a snow storm a few years back. The same could be said for every team's fan base around the league.

Now, once the season actually gets going having the NFLN does become important even from the start of training camp with its coverage of the entire league. And the game of the week is actually good with coach/player interviews edited in between plays. Not to mention that with comcast on demand you get to watch your local team in a ten minute breakdown of every game as the season goes on.

So unless the NFLN has actual good program have fun with your little slap-fight with Comcast because nobody really cares about until the fall.
Posted Sunday June 15, 2008, About: NFL meets on proposed LA stadium
Zygi wants HIS own stadium in Minnesota why the hell would he want to go pay rent (probably A LOT) to play in a stadium that has no fan base/history. The Vikings stadium is in place all Zygi needs is a strong financial partner and the stadium will be built where the Dome stands. Like the immigration Song played sometimes before kickoff the Vikings come from the land of ice and snow not botox and sunscreen.

Either way the Vikings are locked into the Dome for four more seasons including this year. San Diego expires before then, and Jacksonville could be in Super Bowl this year and still might have blackouts for home games.

However if this guy really wants a stadium, build it and could encourage the NFL to add a 17th game. With the NFL playing an oversea game or two and the rest played in Los Angeles a year. That way LA fans can pick from the entire league to come and play. And of course, LA would get the Super Bowl every 4-5 years as well.

Thank god he's a former Viking, never cared too much for him either. I bet even Jerry Jones wouldn't take a look at this player... hey Darrion can you say food-stamps?? unless the bengals need a backup
Posted Friday March 28, 2008, About: Potential Vikings-Dolphins deal?
Jason Taylor?? Please. Isn't he 34-35 and is debating on retiring. Trade McKinnie and a 3rd rnd pick to the Panthers for Peppers. The Vikings defense is really a pass rushing specialist away from being elite.

If they draft either Limas Sweed or Kenny Phillips the Vikes will be in the playoffs but OBVIOUSLY drafting DE's doesn't work for MN in the first round.

But, of course, they need a good veteran back-up QB in the worst way. With Farve out of the way, the Vikings could easily make a run at the division. Rodgers will have growing pains every QB does, and theres probably a reason he slipped to #24 in the draft that year too.

Well, I heard he made a quick decision and tried to mail it in but it was intercepted for not having the enough stamps on it. BOO-YA!
Posted Friday March 21, 2008, About: Grant wants sweet Packers deal
Hey Bucky: Way to bring up an NFC Championship game from a DECADE ago, but as long we're talking about choking in playoff games how about Brett Farve vs. the Rams secondary (5 int), or Brett Farve vs the Vikings secondary (4int), Brett Farve vs Eagles secondary (2int) Brett Farve vs the Giants secondary (2int)... Farve was probably the best when it came to choking in a big game, but if he had a running game vs NY who knows??? Again, good job Grant you really deserve the money you get for being a prime-time choker.

Oh, and as for that NFC Championship TEN years ago, nobody seems to remember Randall Cunningham underthrowing a wide open Randy Moss in OT, but hey its not like he threw an INT in OT like somebody else we all know

Posted Friday March 21, 2008, About: Grant wants sweet Packers deal
Too bad he couldn't run the ball in a big game against NY, hey maybe they would've won that game and Farve coulda gone out on top, but then again why would anyone want that... Oh yeah, probably EVERYONE in Wis.

Good job Grant you do deserve to get reawrded by joking in the NFC Championship

Well, hopefully they will kick 'em to the curb for a decent draft pick
Posted Tuesday March 18, 2008, About: Ex-Patriot joining hated Jets?
NYORNO does have a point about the 07' Pats, they broke the '98 Vikes regualr season record but that team lost in OT in the NFC Champ, and could have gone on to destroy Elway and the Broncos if they were healthy, but no-one remembers them becuase the lost the NFC Championship
Posted Tuesday March 18, 2008, About: Ex-Patriot joining hated Jets?
That's like Farve coming to play for the Vikings, no thanks. Even if it would make us a playoff team its still about tradition and when you have a hatred/rvialry you don't want a fan favorite on your team.
Posted Monday March 17, 2008, About: Paolantonio defends Favre remarks
Well, no duh a sports writer for packernews.com would get offended by someone FINALLY stating the truth about Farve. Yeah, he was good and played forever but the dude was 3-10 in the playoffs since their last super bowl, is the all-time interception leader and if it weren't for the fact there is NOTHING in Wisconsin Packers he would not be as praised. And in ten years from now he'll be just another QB. Hopefully though all sharp objects have been kept away from John Madden while he grieves.
Posted Tuesday February 26, 2008, About: Teams drooling over Dorsey
I bet if he stays healthy he could be a ten year pro. ESPN seems to love LSU for some reason so I saw a lot of games where Dorsey may have not dominated but played with great speed and enthusism...

and that RB of theres could be a steal in the 3rd to 4th rd his name's something Hester, yeah he's a white boy but could be the drafts Wes Welker of RBs
