I agree that we would like to play others but why not TN? Is it because they are not good RIGHT NOW? Do we not remember that for about 10 years (Franchion - Shula) that Bama was where TN is right now? Come on.
I would disagree with you a little. I would say that traditionally there are 4 elite teams every year in the SEC. Typically there are 2 in the East and 2 in the West. The programs that have managed to fill those roles for extended periods are (East:Fl, GA, TN West:UA, LSU, AU). Now some other teams have jumped up and some have fallen but we have to look at this long term and not just the last 5 - 10 years. Each of these teams rise and fall and I agree with you 100% that there was not a peep out of anyone when TN was beating us on a regular basis. Now that they are down we catch crap for playing them. Pathetic!
What sets the SEC apart from all the other conferences is the fact that in addition to having such a large set of elite programs is the number of ???Upper Class" programs that at any point and time can sit at the big boy table (USC, AR, Now TAMU, maybe UM & MST). So yes there are a couple of bottom tier teams in the SEC just like every other conference but I would suggest that the SEC has the largest collection of Elite and Upper Class programs over time. This is absolutely proven out by the fact that it has not been just one or even two teams that have aided in the SEC's streak of NC(s) but rather 4 different teams. That is an incredible fact that none of the "Experts" on these boards can refute.
TN may be down right now and USC is up right now but that will swing. Give it time. Bama will eventually swing down and AU will buy their way back up. (Sorry I could not resist that last one). So I don???t agree with you that there are only three elite programs in the SEC. I say there are six elite and a total of ~9 that any given year could contend for the SEC and even the NC.
Trust me some tard will jump all over your post to say there are only three good teams in the SEC.
Not sure what that has to do with my post but I will attempt to respond anyway since I am board.
If I understand you correctly you are saying that Bama did not suffer under the penalties imposed by the NCAA because we would not play PSU? If that makes you feel better about your school please continue to follow that train of thought. I believe that home and home was played in 2010 & 2011. I was at the 2010 game and t that time we did not realize we were playing Pedophile State University and I actually stood and cheered for JoePa when he ran out.
As far as cheating goes when Bama has been caught I have felt that they should pay the price. I may not agree with the extent of the punishment but I do agree that they need to be punished. This holds true for any school caught cheating.
My previous post was in response to someone stating that PSU was being punished now for something that happened in the past. The obvious question would be when do you want them to punish the school? They can start punishing the schools ahead of time if you like. Do you think PSU is helping out any other sex offenders? Maybe we should alert the NCAA now and that way they can start to punish the school now.
Normally I would kind of agree. But the kids that are at PSU today had a chance to leave and the recruits comming in had a chance to go somewhere else. Sorry but PSU will pay for hiding a pedaphile in their ranks. I suspect you are a PSU fan.
That is the hope but I hate the be the one to tell you. They will most likely schedule some OOC cup cake to become bowl eligible. The article even says that. Just count on watching a non-interesting game. by the way the cost of the tickets won't go down either.
Ohhhh so sorry.
I was at the game in 94(?) when the Deuce tied the ball game at the very end to preserve the Unbeaten streak against UT.
I was also at the game where pin head Payton lead the band. (It still hurts)

That is NOT the case here. He has absolutely proven that!
Thank You Mal.
