Now, the question is, will the MN Twins still be the worst team in the AL. They have the worst owner, Manager, pitching Coach, I think they will give the Stros a run for their money.
Yea a direction, 2011 they were 4 point dogs to Houston in week 2, week 1 in 2012 10+ point dogs, yea, there is a direction from really bad to the worst Franchise in football.
Howard has caught Shaquitis, big men get it playing Center in Orlando, being in better shape than Shaq, it has taken longer for Howard to catch it, first sign is loafing down the court, noticed it last Knick game.
Exactly, the reason there is trouble in the Jets locker room, is because of the Prima Donna wide receivers. When the NFL starts to crash it will be because the public is tired of these spoiled athletes.
They haven't made any strides since Shula was forced out, in fact, they did make a fluke leap going from worst to first one year, but that was do to scheduling and injuries to key players on other teams in their division, and after that, continued their trend of mediocrity for the last 17 years. The lack of class of the ownership, is reflected on the lack of class on the field.
Yea, what does that have to do with Nishi's poor fundamentals, from pivoting at second to being in the correct cut off point at short, this is a huge mistake on the Twins. They could have spent less money to keep Hardy, who might not have the range of Nishi, but is far better hitter with power and a better arm. The Twins won the lottery on Nishi, that alone should of said something. This is a GM mistake, the Twins have used 2B as a revolving door for years now they are doing it at SS, no wonder their defense stinks.
Question Morneau's health, then why give up on Young? Unbelievable, one of the worst trades in the teams history, another one, trading for Young; a power pitcher and starting SS that would be an allstar following year. Then give Young away, a power hitter in a slump, who was coming around, when you don't have power hitters, you replace Young with what? He will be a fixture in Detroit.
What is a small market team doing paying 23 million a year to a player, they should of kept that money paid the small amount it would have been to keep Hudson and Hardy, kept a couple of the bullpen players they let go, and this team might be competing now. They have almost always let their stars walk or trade them, Blyleven, Bostock, Carew, Hunter, Santana, Viola, this is the formula for small market teams, they created it, Cleveland is following it so are the Rays and KC. They should have traded Mauer, and knowing that was going to happen they would not have let Ramos go for Capps, this team would of had a future, not now.
You are exactly right. This team is a cellar dweller for years, maybe even a decade to come. Look at what they need. Multiple positions in bull pen, power pitchers that don't throw to contact, middle infield, a center fielder that can catch and hit, since they will loose Cuddyer and Kubel, they will also need a right fielder, Valencia to get his head on right, a back up catcher, a back up first baseman and DH if their MVP first baseman makes it back, if he doesn't then they'll need a first baseman. Other than solid pitching, relief pitching, up the middle defense, a 1st baseman, a right fielder, they are in good shape, to compete in a weak division.
This is from the Orlando Sentinel, they have positively the worst set of sports writers in the country. The Dolphins are trying to build an offense with speedy receivers that can stretch the field, Tebows main weakness is long ball accuracy, his strength is making something happen underneath, just the opposite of what the Dolphins need.
So, Mauer prefers to hit two and three hoppers to second and short instead of HRs? Since last September he has had no power not even extra base power, most of his hits have gone through the infield. Cassilla has more HRs than Mauer, Nishi might even have more doubles than Mauer, who is not hitting for average or extra base power, a punch and judy singles hitting catcher, whose defense and play calling have been questioned, though both were exceptional against the Rays on the 4th, maybe he has been and still is injured.
Well the Twin are well balanced, in the American League they rank 12th out of 14 teams in hitting, pitching and defense, one of the worst teams in baseball, ten or so games under .500, they have no chance of winning this division.
Mauer has not been a good defensive catcher the last 2 years, his play calling has become suspect, and this is his 8th year he has a total of 81 homers, wouldn't want him as my first baseman with his around .225 batting average and no HRs.
It is not the first real injury of his career, I believe his rookie year was lost in knee injury, which slowed him, his MVP year was cut short the first month due to injury. The mistake the Twins made was paying him this huge salary then gutting the team, since last September he has been hitting worm killing singles when he has got hits or hitting into a dp. His throws to second have been terrible, and his play calling is finally coming into question, which could be the reason this pitching staff has not improved, they did much better without him.
I always thought the same, but down the stretch in the regular season and in the playoffs, I can't remember a superstar whine and complain as much as Wade, and never saw one get as many breaks as him also, I saw at least 7 incidents of complaining that D. Howard would have gotten technicals for.

Bad team is only skin deep, a bad franchise goes right to the bone.
