Yeah, I just got in. How's Otis?

They could play Sanchez AND Alex Smith for a quarterback. That's the ticket.
Posted Thursday April 18, 2013, About: Patterson, Austin score low on Wonderlic
Did you use anything but your head on the test? IDK bout you, but in relation to this test, I think it would be important. Players don't get a pencil.
Posted Thursday April 18, 2013, About: Patterson, Austin score low on Wonderlic
I did notice that with the time pressure I made two keying mistakes on answers and had to reinsert and submit, which took time. Those mistakes are just as telling as a wrong answer. When I was playing football, I probably wouldn't have given this test a second thought. We didn't know anything about a Wonderlikk back then. So while I might have scored the same-or maybe less-I would not have had any miscues. Which would score higher?
Posted Thursday April 18, 2013, About: Patterson, Austin score low on Wonderlic
Yeah, that's what I got too. And yeah, it be math, but in almost all of those questions, I did the math the same way I do often in life. Spatial reasoning. Fractional conversion. Same things football players do in their heads when they look around during a play.
Posted Wednesday April 17, 2013, About: Sanchez 'fired up' to save his job
I just can't believe that everyone in the Jets organization couldn't look down the road and KNOW that this kid will be getting blown out of games because he is Joe College, not Mark Sanchez, franchise player, team leader, with a steady, mean focus all the time that's easy to understand and work with. At this point, defensive players all around the league are getting ready to pick on him every week. He's got some serious issues that just plain shouldn't exist if he were being brought along right all this time and everyone knows them all now.
Posted Wednesday April 17, 2013, About: Joe Montana's son will workout with 49ers
No it ain't. He's a PR stunt, more than anything. It's great for the fans; and it'll have Montana jerseys selling better than usual--and who knows? Maybe the kid could look good, go on to do well this year, and be a backup somewhere. Or not, but the team as an organization can only benefit from having him show up to work out a bit.
Posted Tuesday April 16, 2013, About: Chiefs begging to trade top pick (and no wonder)
The Jags should start floating purchase rumors, string them along, and then dump them when they bite. Anything to keep the Chiefs from being ready when the clock starts.
Posted Tuesday April 16, 2013, About: Lakers GM downplays Kobe Bryant as amnesty option
That's not necessarily far off the mark as I see it. We aren't tokking about a random athlete and the fact is that during this rehab, other than rest/down time, his best recuperatives will be found at the facility. Kobe Bryant in rehab, LakerTV. Think that would be worth 30mil to the team? It ain't like he doesn't get his job back with a successful rehab, right? Sports Entertainment, baby. This ain't granddads NBA anymore, and YES; even the great Kobe Bryant IS STILL an employee of the Lakers right now-and by extension, from now til his contract is up. Both Kobe and the team could make good money in this downtime.
Posted Monday April 15, 2013, About: Chiefs begging to trade top pick (and no wonder)
Does anyone dispute that if the ones responsible for employing these guys were actually doing their jobs as if there were millions at stake, then a team's personnel; say like those in K.C., would be much more confident in making that Number 1 Overall pick?

As I see it, scouts are not the only team personnel that should be on the road all year. Quality draft picking efforts will net some teams more than others, but will always benefit anyone. An ounce of prevention. Still sound philosophy.
Posted Monday April 15, 2013, About: Chiefs begging to trade top pick (and no wonder)
As I see this issue, there is minimum playing time vs production requirements by contract that just isn't being worked out in advance. An Alex Smith scenario shouldn't ever be allowed to proceed, even where the coach and many of the core players weren't very good either-which apparently made him not so sukky looking to team executive officers or something. There's also the fact that these people choosing don't actually see much of the guys they are about to risk many millions on. They don't take opportunity to see what kind of character the player has in any setting but the ones on tv or where the player is knowing he's performing for them. Character issues are waived every year, and they wonder where the pervasive bs that's in the league comes from.
Posted Saturday April 13, 2013, About: Young impresses in Raiders workout
Raiders qb's aren't allowed to eat ever since Russell. Even their playbooks say 'Do Not Eat'. And they keep Russell hanging around too. They might threaten Young with having Russell eat him if he doesn't succeed. Ah, mebbe he's just the team bogeyman now. But he's still scary. He's out there somewhere, eating animal legs right now.
Posted Saturday April 13, 2013, About: Kobe Bryant goes on post-injury Facebook rant
Never been much of a fan of this guy, even with his skills. Hard not to feel for him though, because I can reach down and scratch the same scar he's gonna have soon. One thing is sure. NOW we are gonna see how much fight Kobe's got in him, because if he succeeds in getting back on the floor he will have never done anything harder.
Posted Saturday April 13, 2013, About: Dolphins ready to deal up ... way up
Probably the last year that they did not deal away their high picks, at a guess. Believe it or not, they all get a pick-every round. That's why they call it a round.
Posted Saturday April 13, 2013, About: Jets could include Mark Sanchez in Darrelle Revis trade
I really do not get how these guys can come out of college, do little or nothing, and the team is stuck like Chuck paying out the butt to a guy that can't find his own unless he's trying to stuff a football up there. Performance Clauses. College players will still want to play football, trust me. What are they gonna do? Try to use their degree? As if.
Posted Saturday April 13, 2013, About: Jets should release Tim Tebow, says Jeff Garcia
By the way. I don't recall Garcia ever utilizing that particular muscle group on a play in quite that way. Who taught Sanchez that? It wasn't Pete Carroll. As strange as it looks, I wouldn't be surprised if there were a touchdown pass POSSIBLE from there, as it sure isn't an expected 'football move'. Now THAT is a question! Was it a 'football move'?
Posted Saturday April 13, 2013, About: Jets should release Tim Tebow, says Jeff Garcia
So. Study Hall. Suggested viewing. 1) Buttfumble play. There was obviously some hidden meaning in the 'football to butt' action that has significance for fans, the team, and football as a larger organization. Huh? Don't ask me. At least not till I've watched it a few dozen more times and can formulate more of an esoteric opinion.
Posted Saturday April 13, 2013, About: Jets should release Tim Tebow, says Jeff Garcia
This was a non-thread before. If it gets play for a few more days we just might be able to figure out whatever hidden meanings the insistent reporter at USAToday doesn't think we've gotten so far. We should study. If not, this might never go away.
Posted Saturday April 13, 2013, About: Tyrann Mathieu failed at least 10 drug tests at LSU
He wants to give his qb a nice kiss. Ain't that sweet. I wonder how much this kid would pay to make this picture disappear? If the ten failed drug tests weren't career suicide, this pic surely is.
Posted Saturday April 13, 2013, About: Garcia: Jets should dump Tebow
Do you guys get qb gurus for your Fantasy League qb's?

On Topic: One thing about Jeff Garcia. He's a posterboy for why you don't want to get caught out on the run by some of these guys. Why, if you ain't tough enough inside; you're in the wrong trade, because even the tough ones get wrecked. Jeff was a scrambling qb that made things happen by gaining time and capitalizing on it. He was great at it until. Then he made it back to the NFL. To start again. You think your personal 'fav of all time qb' could have? Would have?
Posted Friday April 12, 2013, About: Lawrence Okoye visiting 49ers, Saints
This guy would have a real job of work to get to pro level, let alone elite. Lots of guys have speed and strength. Lots of them overpursue, can't block and recover, get driven like a cow, or tackle worth a damn.

So what kind of miracle money is this dude worth, comparative to the average mainline prospect that is looking at a 3 year learning curve after playing organized football for years including 4 years at Div I?
