How about that Sterling? He is gonna be such a great player. Hard to believe he is only 19. I can see him being the top English player as soon as next year. He is a breakout star waiting to happen, this World Cup.

And he can play any position. Started off as a winger, was fantastic at it. Moved to central mid, and was brilliant. Now scores two goals as a striker. He is so versatile, and so good.

Who isn't cheering for Liverpool though? Only City and Chelsea fans probably, and maybe United fans.

You have to want Gerrard to win one, no one deserves it more than him. And they have shown you can win the league, without buying it. They have done it in ways that Chelsea, City, and United don't, by not buying the best and most expensive players. And this team is so young! Plus, for those Brits, this team is actually mostly British, unlike the teams that have been running, that rarely have multiple Brits play important roles.

And they play the most exciting soccer I have ever seen in the EPL. The goals and the pace, it is truly the beautiful game.

Going into the season, I was thinking 5th place would be nice, 4th and a Champions league spot would be terrific. Before they went on this unbelievable run, I thought 4th would be great. But then Arsenal fell, and I was like 3rd would be fantastic! Never did I really think they would have a shot at winning the league. BUT THEY ARE GONNA!

And Gerrard is having his best year in some time. The last couple years he has struggled with injuries, and some thought he was done. But the new role that Rodgers has him in, he is terrific at. He is easily the best deep lying midfielder in the world (sorry Pirlo). And this is his first year in this role!

There isn't a single person who can't be happy for Gerrard! To finally see him lift the trophy will be incredible.

Last week when he was crying on the pitch, and had that speech with the team on the field all emotional, my eyes even watered up.

The formation I see them using would be something like (these may turn out really messy)...

.....................GK....................
.............CB...........CB.............
.....LB...........................RB......
..............................................
............CDM..........CDM.............
...............................................
...................CAM......................
.......LW.......................RW.........
.....................ST........................

If that makes any sense. With both full backs playing a strong attacking role, and jumping into the attack. Luke Shaw would probably get a lot of playing time, in that role. In fact, I'd have the entire team just go far and be on attack. England's backend is scary bad, but if they cut the young guys lose, and let them attack, they may have a chance to win a couple games. I like their front four, if Rooney is on the bench. And Wilshere and Gerrard both have experience and are really good as deep lying central mid-fielders.

Liverpool is gonna win the league!!!!!!

I think Liverpool can draw Chelsea, but beat City. City isn't the best road team, and Liverpool is so hot right now.

But I don't feel like a TD on this topic.

I wont get around to finishing this until Tuesday. Sorry. Going to Istanbul this weekend, and leave in a couple hours. I was hoping I could finish it today.

It is pretty nice. I am liking it a lot. I am shocked by the people a lot though, they are so different.

But I am loving it here. Though, I think I am just gonna stay here for the 6 months (return in July), and not pick up my option and stay 3 years.

Thompson at age 22 is doing exactly what was expected of him. No one thought he'd be a 20 and 10 guy, but 10 and 10 is around where he was projected. And he is still growing. Will probably end up being a 15 and 10 player.

Bennett had some serious issues with injuries and confidence. He has started to play better. But he was never worthy of the top pick.

Those other guys were never suppose to be anymore than bench players. And they are pretty much all doing that.

And to paint a brush based on nationality is stupid. Like really stupid. Each player is an individual, and their nationality has nothing to do with anything. Especially when they all go to US colleges, and most went to high school in the US.

Oh god. This is too funny.

Mexico is apart of North America, you know? That country with 120 million, mostly Hispanic people.

I was actually in Cologne this past weekend, and saw Schalke beat Bayer. Watching a soccer game in Germany is amazing, especially when it is a big meaningful game. One hell of an experience.

Yeah I'm gonna go out tonight with some friends. My flight is tomorrow early evening. So I will probably get my second up tomorrow morning. The third may never come.

Moving there for 6 months, at least. Have an option to stay another 30 months after the first 6.

I may not get to the rest of my arguments. Leaving for Denmark tomorrow evening.

I told you I am basing it off the only three starts I have seen him play. The Packer game though was luck, nothing to do with out playing them. He only completed 12 passes, yet had 3 TD. One was a deep ball, 55 yards, and Desean Jackson had blown past the defender and was wide open. Foles under threw him by about 5 yards, and went right off the defenders hands, and popped up into Jackson's hands for the easy TD.

This is luck. Luck is not balanced out in small samples. You need a much larger sample size before the luck gets balanced out, and you can judge his numbers

His competition obviously plays a big role in his numbers. If he would start 16 games against the worst D, or 16 games against the best D, obviously the numbers would be night and day. His competition plays a big role.

His numbers are also highly inflated by his outlier start against the Raiders.

His numbers do not tell the whole story because the sample size was too small, and his competition was so weak. Until he has a full season under his belt, the only way I can judge him is by his play. Albeit, I have only seen three starts of his, against the Packers, Cowboys, and Saints (all whom have terrible D), and I have been left thinking his play has been much overrated by the people I have heard talk about him. Do I think he is a good starter? Yes. He is for sure one of the better QB's in the league, and maybe even top 10. But do I think he is an elite, or top 5 QB? No way.

Maybe not the mainstream media, but I think he is highly regarded by the majority of people. And when you talk to Philly people, they seem to think he is an elite QB.

Sample size is way too small. Luck plays such a large factor when the sample size is so small. For example, in the Packers game the safety's dropped to picks, that really should have been easy picks. If those two were picked, his rate would be much higher. But they weren't, because of luck. However with a larger sample size, he will throw interceptions that were simply bad luck, such as a WR dropping a ball and it landing in a defenders hands. In the end, hopefully all the good luck and bad luck balances out.

Plus with a small sample size, the numbers are very skewed based on the terrible opponents he played.

Give him another year at least.

He does need more discipline, I'll give you that.
Posted Friday January 10, 2014, About: Six players to build around.
Very tiny sample size. With his stats padded by going up against the very worst D (Dallas) plus the 31st and 30th ranked D too. That's over a third of his games against the three worst defences in the entire league. Add in games against Green Bay, Washington, Oakland, Tampa, Detroit, and New York, and you have one of the easiest list of teams he played in his tiny sample.

But I am largely judging him on the only three games I watched him play. One against Green Bay were despite having three TD, two of them were pure luck and would have been picked if not for Green Bay's terrible safety play. He also failed to impress me in the playoffs, and I don't read too much into his play against the Cowboys in week 17. He just never impressed me.
