What did you get me?

I am pretty relaxed, I think you need to be telling DWI to be calm, not me.

I don't think if the play is stopped and a penalty is given, that was going to stop Thornton from going after Orpik later.

Boston commits just as many cheap shots as the Pens. They are the two dirtiest teams in the league.

Refs miss calls all game. The fact that Crosby didn't get a tripping penalty means nothing. That happens every game. For example, the game I was watching, Kadri does a similar trip and the Leafs go the other way and Kessel scores on an odd-man rush. Refs miss calls, and it isn't a matter of the refs not wanting to call stuff against Crosby.

Orpik was an innocent bystander, and was sucker punched. Don't try blaming the victim of a sucker punch.

Why should someone have to get beat up in a fight for delivering a perfectly clean hockey play? Why should he have to spend 5 minutes in the penalty box?

Orpik was just finishing his check. A perfectly clean and good play. The outcome of the play sucks, but it is part of the game. If he doesn't finish his hit there, he probably gets **** from the coach.

PJ stock is an idiot.

Saying the optics is terrible. Saying they were little punches.

He is simply a friend of Thornton, and trying to defend him.

What Thornton did was no different than what Bertuzzi did. He should have a minimum of 20 games.

And yes Neal deserves a suspension too. And probably a long one, because he is an idiot and keeps doing stupid things. But Thornton should have the book thrown against him.

Hence the reasoning for him being the #1 guy. At least he is good at something.

Overpay. But if they didn't give him it, the Islanders would have.

Meh, who cares what his reaction was. He doesn't like the attention, we already know that.

Bozak is only good at face-offs. He sucks at everything else.

You know who stinks? Every Leaf outside Kessel, JVR, Bolland, Lupul, Franson, Reilly, and the goalies. Especially Bozak.

Joe Thornton is good in the playoffs. He had some rough goes early in his career in Boston, but has been good in the playoffs his entire career with the Sharks. It is a myth that he is a playoff bust. People hear how good he is on the East coast, but don't watch him during the regular season. They watch him in the playoffs, and see how he doesn't score goals, and say he is a bust. But they don't realize he rarely scores goals in the regular season. They also see him and think he isn't trying hard, but he is an effortless player and doesn't give off the impression he is working hard, because he makes it look so easy. He is just as good in the playoffs as he is in the regular season, which is really, really good.

Boyle has a Cup, and also has been great throughout his career in the playoffs.

Marleau has had pretty much the exact same production in the playoffs and in the regular season in his career, which is tough to do since scoring goes down in the playoffs. He has had some rough playoffs, but also some really good ones.

They have a ton of cap space for next year. Cap geek has them at around $19 million, plus they will probably buy out Havlat to clear another $5 million.

Plus I see these three guys as the type of guys that would take a home-town discount. I don't see them wanting to leave. Especially Thornton.

I would say they have already made Bernier the starter, which is wrong. There should be no starter yet.

They aren't playing Reimer enough. I don't know what more he needs to do. He was great last season, fantastic in the playoffs, and has been terrific every game he has played this year. I wouldn't be surprised if he asks for a trade. They are not being fair to him.

Edmonton should sign him. Don't know if they have the cap space, but if they offer him say $1-less the amount that costs 4 firsts rounders, (I think that is at or around $8 million), then you can have him for two firsts, a second, and a third.

Odds are, you wont be drafting top 10 (if Edmonton were to get him), so two firsts outside the top 10, are definitely worth the price to pay to acquire one of the games best defenseman. If St. Louis matches, who cares, you just put them in a tougher spot against the cap than they wanted to be.

Both are worth it.
Posted Wednesday July 24, 2013, About: White Sox reject one deal, will consider others
There has to be more to this deal. No way the Cardinals offered Martinez straight up for Ramirez, and no way in hell would the White Sox reject that deal.

If you trade Kessel, then why spend money and waste cap space? Mind as well go in a full rebuild and trade Lupul too.

Grabovski would be a nice fit in Detroit or Anaheim.
