lol, O'Connor transferred to be close to home and Crowell transferred because he's not going to play. No one expected O'Connor to transfer, we're already thin at OL and we were looking forward to him. You can't blame a true freshman spending one year away from home and being homesick on OSU forcing him out. He was going to be playing a lot for OSU in the next few years.

However, it's considered valid to say "No Pippen=No rings"? I'm saying I very much disagree with that. Michael Jordan was the best player to touch a basketball...That's why I feel confident he could've and would've won at least a couple titles. That certainly is an opinion...Just like someone saying No Pippen=No titles.

And because I say so, you have no knowledge of the game. Tell me again how Scottie Pippen is as good as Karl Malone. Tell me how he's as good as David Robinson. Tell me how he is as good as Larry Bird. Tell me how he's as good as Barkley. Tell me how he is as good as Olajuwon. Please. Silly little guy.

You think all of those players were very good and MVP winners on their own? Imagine pairing them with Jordan.

I would say that yes, Pippen had that one year when he had to be the alpha dog. I would also say that that I stand firm with the fact that it's not like Scottie was on the same level of the greats his name's mentioned with...Barkley, Malone, Robinson, Magic, Bird, etc...Those top flight players. I'm saying he was a very good player but not on the level that of those guys like everyone puts him. Also, that is not very simple math at all. In fact I'd say that's dumb math. I absolutely believe Michael could have and would have won multiple titles in his prime without Scottie (and given a serviceable player to replace...let alone imagine replacing Scottie with one of the truly elite players...like Barkley, Malone, or Robinson).

How can I forget. They had tons of journeymen and late round draft picks that turned out to be great...with the Bulls....and garbage elsewhere.
Posted Thursday May 03, 2012, About: LeBron won't take Reggie's bait
The team that won the title with Jordan was a total overhaul from the team the Bulls had when he entered the league. Jordan didn't win until his 6th year or whatever. He stuck with it even when it seemed impossible to beat Boston and Detroit out of the East. Jordan didn't just walk into a championship team by ANY stretch.

That aside, Jordan's supporting casts are vastly overrated. He had some good players to be sure, but no supporting cast he ever had is in the vicinity of LeBron's right now. Luc Longley was a plain bad center (and so was every center they ever had, starters and backups...unless you want to convince me how Bill Wennington was some kind of all-star). Rodman had himself a niche as a defender and rebounder but was one-dimensional in that repsect, he was more or less a liability on offense and was liable to do plain stupid things to hurt the team. Ron Harper was a 2-guard playing out of position at point and well past his prime. Kukoc and Armstrong never amounted to squat when they weren't playing with Michael. Kerr was as one dimensional as it gets, a spot up shooter and nothing else. Horace was solid, not overwhelming. Ah, then the beloved Scottie Pippen. A very good player, to be sure...but definitely overrated. Was a so-so, inefficient offensive player without Jordan but was always a great defender. A good player but not a Barkley, Olajuwon, Ewing, Robinson, Magic, Bird, etc. caliber player like everyone makes him out to be. Point is Jordan stuck it out and made all of those players we know so well look so much better than they were. SO much better than they were. Or maybe we were convinced that Jud Buechler really was an awesome phenomenon of a role player, or Randy Brown, Dicky Simpkins, etc.

LeBron's got the game of any of the all-time greats but he hasn't elevated his game to another mind-boggling level like most of the greats did in the biggest moments.

Prolly lose to the Heat.

So...it's completely invalid to use an argument comparing LeBron to other players that have stuck with their teams, gone through the growing pains, endured and won a championship. Not tried to take a shortcut to championships by ring chasing...and the whole acting like a pompous douchenozzle the entire time just rubs people the wrong way on top of it. If he can proclaim, before ever playing a single game, "not one, not two, not three..." of course people are going to make fun of him when he goes around begging for advice when he can't get it done with the "super team" and is completely out of (the "bad teammates") excuses.

Christ, for some people we really have to make things clear. Sure, everyone had very solid players on their team to win a championship. Nobody IN THEIR PRIME has up and left to go play with 2 players who, at the time, were considered to be top 10 players in the league. This is called CHASING A RING. Nobody except for desperate washed up veterans have really done that prior to LeBron. Even when those washed up veterans did it everyone rolled their eyes and scoffed, "Ring chaser."

Funny...That's not what Michigan fans have been saying the past 7 years. Congrats on actually consistently beating us when we were just starting our football program before our grandparents were born, though.

But so has everyone else. I also said you have to be perfect or near perfect. You'd have to be kidding me to tell me right now that LSU and Alabama are not the two best teams in the country this year.

Not to mention (in the spirit of this story) in college football there's no sitting a star player for any game throughout the season because every week is do or die. I can watch my NFL team lose and just say, meh...Whatever. I watch my college football team lose and it's devestating. College basketball has an exciting few weeks...College football has an exciting few months.
Posted Sunday December 11, 2011, About: Why Ohio State sat Sullinger
College football is singularly unique in American sports, though. The entire season is essentially a playoff. My case and point for that type of system -- Where you have to be perfect or near perfect the entire season -- is "did you SEE last season's national championship game for college basketball???" That was one of the worst games I watched all season let alone one of the worst championship games I've ever seen. Two teams that had either or a combination of both A) A lucky hotstreak and B) an easier path to the title game. None of the best teams in the country were playing for the national championship. That system doesn't reward the best team or the team who had the best season...It rewarded who got hot and lucky at the end of the season.

I'd say it's a lot less conspiracy theory-ish than that...More so that this isn't an important league game, it isn't an important tournament game and why take a risk of aggravating what's currently a nagging injury? Let him rest for as long as it takes now or else he could have a lingering back problem all season and at crucial times when we can't afford to have him sit. Everyone was also saying that Sully couldn't even touch his toes on Saturday.

He's alright...He seems always reliable for at least "WHAT THE F WERE YOU EVEN THROWING TO" interceptions every game. I'm astonished sometimes when he looks just fine all game and then randomly he throws the ball into the middle of 2 or 3 opposite uniforms without even having a receiver in the zipcode.

He didn't leave much for Will Muschamp...OH, yeah! Outside of those consecutive super highly rated recruiting classes!

It's not his offense that concerns me...It's the fact that I watched that guy play some of the worst defense I've seen last year...Well when he could actually make it 10 minutes without getting injured.
