I am gator fan but know Miami has owned Florida alot of the time. I feel the reason is money also. I goto UF and a home game is MAJOR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!! Florida will sell out playing Charleston Southern or Miami....! College football is all about the money....College teams get 8 home games a year to make revenue...Florida loses one of them to Georgia and then loses another one when rotating with FSU.....They dropped Miami cause it would lose another home game and yeah playing Miami would only raise the chances of another loss....I will take all the crap from Miami fans about us being scared but i will take the last victory we had in the swamp!

The University Athletic Association is not subsidized by state funds and produces its own cash flow through private donations, ticket sales and merchandising.

I am glad they put that last part in the article. I am a UF student and yes the budget is strict but the school does not pay a dime to UF athletics....they raise all their own money and are very profitable. The UAA (university athletic association) of UF donated over $20 million to the school in these past few years! Meyer and Donovan are set to raise $50 million for scholarship money for UF. Pay them all you want as long as they keep the wins coming in...the cash will keep coming in

the Patriots are so smart...they will just trade him or cut him and get some one who will do just as good at a lower price! the Patriots are an amazing team when it comes to the "football management" of everything! This past draft just showed how good the patriots are in their front office. I hate the patriots now but love the way they do business!

people are talking about the BIG -10 adding teams to make it 12 and add a conference championship..YES DO IT!! but it wont happen! one guy said you should put ohio state vs michigan in separate divisions but have them play every year.....i think that would take away some of the rivalry...play at the end of the season then meet again in the conferene championship...got to keep them together!!!! I think RUTGERS should go....they want to be all about football....and the big 10 delivers that and they hate that their basketball team gets pounded in the big east....move them on over!!!!!!

Now all they have to do is win...9-4 is good for them but I am sure 10-3 would really set things up right...being a Gator fan i want Georgia to win vs okla. state just to help booster the SEC and their standing when we play them but i hope Okla. State beats texas and OU.......the SEC might be the toughest conferene top to bottom but i feel the BIG 12 SOUTH is the toughest division in football last year....texas, OU, osu, texas tech, Texas a &m, and poor baylor...they will never win the big 12......!!!!! They are just slugging it out!

I just looked on the website of Okla. State's new football stadium upgrades and WOW!!!!! If i was a recruit and was looking around...they would be at the top of my list!!!!!! It is an amazing facility and will def. secure top recruits!!!!

It is a smart move for the kid to do since he will be allowed to leave for a 2 year church mission if he decides to go! If he comes back and things have changed he will be allowed to be released from his scholarship and transfer....this is all shaping out to be like the #1 QB Ben Olsen or something like that.....! Best of luck BYU...you all just need some speed (black people)

News is slow right now....I dont think the NCAA should place such strict restriction the what the players can do...you almost make it seem like the players are slaves to the university they choose and must put in their time for 3-4 years before they can live again!

I saw a quote that talks about a football team and it says:

Talent=7 wins
Talent/ Discipline=8-9 wins
Leadership (and the other 2)= CHAMPIONSHIPS

Agree Toddmm5.....If teams could schedule whoever then they would have a bakers dozen of cupcake games! Notre Dame needs to join the Big 10 or Big East....the Big east already had Notre Dame in basketball so get it going on football....but to be more realistic get Notre Dame in BIG -10 Football...they already play michigan, purdue, michigan state and even Ohio State or Penn state here and there...so just go with it full time..it will boost the Big-10.....! As soon as NBC says PISS OFF NOTRE DAME...to the TV contract then it will happen!

agree...the NFL is trying to keep a good image....by allowing players to do this it just shows they want to WIN and dont care at the Cost....To Bring up Mike Vick, I feel he has served his time and suspension and should be back.....dog fighting compared to armed robbery....big difference! there is animal fighting going on all the time its just Vick got caught....but for a guy to be robbing people....NOPE!
