I think with all that has happened in the past few weeks Coach Kelly gets the ship righted and we win one. (We, like I have anything to do with the game other than watch it and develop ulcers, HA!) Anyway, stay the course, we just landed another 4 star WR in DaVaris Daniels. So with that being said we seem to have a strong recruiting class coming in and we look poised to have a solid weekend. Here's to hoping!!! GO IRISH!!!!!

Chump? Wow good one! Look, I was not referencing UCLA, as I know they have had a black coach. Moreover, I was talking about USC. The fact of the matter is this, you claim that racism was the reason for Willingham being fired, however what you fail to point out that he basically said that he couldn't keep up with the demands of being the Irish head coach. I, for one, liked Ty Willingham and was not very pleased to see his tenure end the way it did. He recruited well in is first couple of seasons at Notre dame but he couldn't keep up. At least the guy admits it, that's more than a number of coaches who have hidden agendas (AHEM Kiffin, Carrol).

Speaking of sanctions, I love the way USC hung Reggie Bush out to dry and made no mention of where Good Ol' Petey was during all of the mess. Guess he was to busy nailing 19 year old undergrads and taking money to stay quiet about the whole affair. But you know what Notre Dame has the problem So maybe I should just keep my mouth shut.

Once again, until ratings take a massive hit the Leafs will be priority one to Canadian hockey broadcasters. you keep waiting and I'll give you a call when it's time to get your head out of the clouds. By the way where are the headquarters for most of Canada's broadcasting companies............take a guess...............I'll wait for it....................yep, Toronto. Look hate all you want but the fact is the Leafs and their passionate and somewhat loud and arrogant fan base will always be able to watch their team on HNIC on Saturday night. Then when the game is done and the majority of Canada drifts off into a blissful drunken slumber the west coast can have their game. That's the way it is.

AHHHHHH 4 minutes to late!
Posted Tuesday September 28, 2010, About: Leafs to end Kadri's NHL tryout?
Hello all, Kadri can and probably will end up on the Marlies. There is nothing wrong with this contrary to popular BE-LEAF! (You haters will be all over the pun!) This is a young man who needs seasoning in the minors to develop aspects of his game. If this kid ended up making the team I am unsure whether or not he would have had the impact of say a Crosby or Ovechkin. I'm going to say probably not. Anyway, the point here is that talented players can and will develop at different times. Sometimes we are to quick to write guys off because they can't jump in and play right away, look at the Habs, they're ready to burn Price at the stake for crying out loud. Let kids develop and allow them the time to get their feet beneath them so that when they are ready they can contribute the way they are expected to.

I see I've hit a sore spot with my little comment? This is not just an opinion this is the reality, whether you like it or not. Fact is due to population, TV rating numbers and team/fan following it would be foolish not to air Leafs games. I haven't stated anything that is untrue. Therefore, from now until the foreseeable future this is a hockey fans reality in Canada, like or not!

Please, for arguments sake, name a coach of colour that USC or UCLA has had. Judging by your name you must be a follower of one of the programs, namely U$C. I have your answer, NONE!!!! Have fun enjoy your sanctions!!!

I truly enjoy reading about how envious everyone is of our beloved Maple Leafs! There is no greater love/hate for a team. All I have to say is that when the dust settles and the games are done our Leafs will be in the playoffs. Not saying a Cup right now but I, for one, truly believe that we are on the right track. We are building with youth, speed and size. Continue the build Brian, Leaf Nation is right behind you supporting you all the way!!! Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and most definitely Montreal you can catch your teams on your local stations, the Leafs will be broadcast Nation wide.............enjoy!

Agreed 3rd down problem has reared it's ugly head again! Fact is T'eo is the only player, on defense that is, that could probably play in the SEC. Speed, size, physicality, after watching the Irish and then watching Bama- Arkansas, I though holy crap! I've been in head on car collisions that have been less violent than some of those tackles those boys were laying on one another! Hate to admit it because I dislike Nick Saban, but Bama could beat a number of NFL teams right now!

Listen, we have had to put up with brilliant starts followed by 3 or 4 lackluster years. I for one am one who believed that a 8 or 9 win season was what was in store for the Irish. However, having seen the MSU game in person and watching the team on a regular basis, it is clear to see that the teams lacks speed. The only way to correct this is to allow coach Kelly to recruit his kind of players and give him time to develop.
One thing that shocked me is the type of character's that good ol Chuck Weiss recruited. At the end of the MSU game I witnessed Jack Swarbuck grab Michael Floyd and push him back to the field to stand with his team as the band played the Alma Mater. Yes the team lost a heart breaker and maybe Floyd is frustrated but Coach Kelly is in search of players who want to be leaders, not players who see this as a stop on their way to the NFL. Maybe Coach Weiss was promising NFL connections etc. but it looks more and more like some of the so-called leaders are in it for themselves and not the team.
The Irish faithful must not grow impatient, I mean we've been waiting since 88 for crying out loud. Give this coach time and allow him to do his job. I believe, if all goes well, we will see a championship contender in 3 years.
This needs to be about the long run and stability as opposed to short term success and mediocre years to follow.
Posted Sunday September 05, 2010, About: Why Taylor Swift has Irish eyes
Good start, you could see the jitters this team had. Hopefully things will iron themselves out. Also, someones got to rein in Man'ti. He was all over the place, not trying to be to critical, but he missed quite a few tackles. You can see he was way to amped up and over pursued some plays. With that being said, I think the Irish are going to be just fine. I like the way the defense responded, I LOVED the running game and I really like that the Irish had a game plan going into this game and stuck by it. Thank God that we didn't see that ridiculous Leprecat offense inside the five yard line! Let's go get Michigan nest week!!!!
Posted Wednesday August 18, 2010, About: Kelly lauds WR for curbing sloppy play of past
What fact or data would you like me to provide. I simply gave an opinion, period. Now if you want fact on Coach Kelly - His record in 13 years at Grand Valley State University was 118???35???2, Central Michigan in three seasons was 19???16, Cincinnati 34-6. You can do the math here. Alright how about Michael Floyd (remember was hurt last year as a SOPHOMORE) 44 rec. 795 yds. rec, 9 TD's in 7 games, Kyle Rudolph named semifinalist for John Mackey Award and was only sophomore to be named semifinalist, stats 33 rec. 364 yd, 3 TD's. Now as for talent there is not enough room to post here but if you look at the roster of Notre Dame, I am confident there are a number of players who were recruited by other "major" schools (ahem.....T'eo etc.) therefore I am sure the Irish can and will be highly competitive this year. I am not saying BCS champs, I am not saying the greatest team ever. I am simply saying that this program is as close as they have been to prominence as they have been for the last few years.

On the offense side of the football I think Notre Dame can stack up against some of the best teams in college football. With that being said, it boils down to defense. No doubt this team will be well coached and well prepared, hopefully they can live up to the standards that the hype machine has put out for them. I do believe that they can win at least 9 games and I DO believe that we will have two players win awards this year, Floyd and Rudolph. I like the make up of this team and coaching staff and am looking forward with great excitement to this coming season. GO IRISH!!!!!!

The Leafs will indeed make the playoffs! At least, I think they will make the playoffs. At least, if they can get a top six forward they will make the playoffs. Ah crap, let's trade Kaberle........

Coach Rod has many problems to address even before his team hits the field. His recruiting has been suspect and he has not shown the "brilliance" that he had at WVU. I think good old karma has paid him a visit....
Posted Monday August 16, 2010, About: Shembo to start Irish career inside and outside?
That, to me, is a BEAUTIFUL story about faith and family. Strength in both create a person who is whole. These are individuals who communities can be built around, I am sure you will find many in the college football landscape.
Posted Monday August 16, 2010, About: Shembo to start Irish career inside and outside?
I am ABSOLUTELY jacked for the upcoming season! The SI college football preview has the Irish pegged for a 6 and 6 record (here comes my profanity laced letter to the editor, HA!). However, I don't think that a 8 or 9 win season is out of the realm of possibility. With the number of quality players that the Irish have and a coach who has a proven winning track record, how can we not be optimistic? Here's to hoping that the Irish will be 2 and 0 when they meet Michigan St. on September 18th in Lansing. I will be there rooting on ol' Notre Dame.
Posted Sunday August 08, 2010, About: Notre Dame QB on fast track
Crist will be fine and so will the Irish! I believe that an 8 or 9 win season is very realistic and if Coach Kelly continues to recruit and coach this team the way he has a national championship will not be far off. I am sure some fan of an opposing team will quote this and make some unintelligent remark but just remember, haters = jealousy. God, Country, Notre Dame!!!!!
