Taylor Walker
DeLeah Caro

Its hard to put a novice at the wheel of a Ferrari and expect to win. Lloyd Carr was a great all around coach, ran a clean program and would be the exemplary coach if it was my kid making a choice for a school. Unfortunately the old school Michigan train of thought is Beat Ohio State, Go To and Win The Rose Bowl. No further aspirations required. That would change under Miles, INSTANTLY.
But now that Miles has shot down the rumors, Michigan can move on to better candidates and come out even stronger. Brian Kelly of Cincinnati comes to mind, I can't think of anyone else that would fit the bill.
I am not a Michigan fan by any means (I cheer for ND unfortunately), but Carr retiring was the best thing to happen to UM football. My bet is that they will be in the championship game Jan. 2010.
I am an ND fan and even I see that next, and probably the year after its going to be lean times. If Weis can survive, I predict a top5 finish the year after that.
But saying that, no one knows if these recruits are going to pan out, so I guess we unfortunately have to wait and see.
Time will tell, and I hope at some point all you BC and USC fans will be sucking it down hard.
I would hazard a guess as to say that within 2 years Miles would have the UM program back as a legitimate Top5, if not Top10 team. I can always gauge the season UM is going to have by their pre-season ranking. Top5? Poor (UM poor is 3 or 4 losses and a bowl game),. ranked in the teens or lower, they'll have a 0 to 1 loss team (Tressel owns Carr, sorry its true).
UM recruiting lately has fallen off, for god knows why, but they are generally a Top10 recruiter, they would again own Michigan, but this change needs to happen, and happen now. Mr. D'Antonio in Lansing (Michigan States coach) will be sucking the state dry very soon.
ND is having a down year this year, I dont even care if they go 0-12, as long as they can start to show the upward swing. The next 2 years will tell the tale for Weis. His first real class will be in, and consecutive Top10 and whats looking at a #1 recruiting year are going to stock the pond.
As for Willingham I try not to go that route, but its been said before and I'll say it again. With 2 seasons in the recruiting abyss, then Weis not being able to recruit due Superbowl considerations wrote off a 3rd year. The cupboard was bare. In 2 years if Weis is not in the Top10 then he should be fired.
I think Sharpley gives them the best chance at winning. Clausen looks uncomfortable back there and holds the ball out way too far.
On a side note, your defense would suck to if your offense kept you on the field, and on short fields.
As for losing their contract? I doubt it. NBC is hurting for sports, and ND, like it or not, is the most popular team in the country. I do think however, that you will see ND join the Big10 sometime in the next few years, since really if ND doesnt get a BCS game, there is really not much left after that.
BTW, I am surprised the "fat" jokes haven't come out yet, they usually do by this time.
Seriously, would anyone be that stupid as to actually be doing this, having a camera on the sideline, when the rules are quite clear in regards to recording devices not being allowed.
And antonio if you show the same disdain to every other creature on the planet as you do a dog, then you might as well pack it in right now.
People need to understand that with a 10 year $130million contract, there comes responsibility. If you can't be a man, then you don't deserve that money.
