look. i'm a met fan, the teams stinks, no doubt, and all this talk about 'playing with passion' and 'let's wait until the all-star break to make a move', of course, is ridiculous. the wilpons want the glory without paying a price for it and they are hoping alderson can do that with a minimum payroll and 'hungry' ballplayers (re: guys who have no shot anywhere else but will take any paycheck to get the shot in NY). A few unexpected wins this year? you bet. competitive? absolutely. a contender, a playoff-bound talented team? heck no. not saying we need a-listers on this team, but we need a boat load of b-lister talent to lure the on or two or three a-listers to turn this team around.
karma? what a dumb and hurtful thing to say. the Amare move will always be viewed by knicks fans like myself as the move that opened the door for the knicks to compete again, to bring in the Melos, the Chandlers, and pick up guys like Smith and Novak. Much like when the Mets brought in Pedro. No championships, sure, but a new beginning in turning around a business that was going no where. "messing up a good thing"? the Knicks weren't even newspaper worthy before Amare's arrival. we knicks fans dont care about you haters and your rejoicing over an injured player who gave is all with all he had. The facts are true - the Knicks would not be playing as well this season and would not have any hope for the playoffs had the move to bring Amare here never occurred. Of that we will ALWAYS be grateful.
mets fan here...since 1968. this toilet bowl of a team should have been flushed several seasons ago. we are not winning with this line-up. trade 'em all. we're not crying about it.
forget the Knicks perspective......Cal is an IDIOT if he gives up the softest, cushiest, wealthiest ride into retirement a coach could have. Why trade in multi-millions, a basketball legacy at THE basketball school, and your good health for the rest of your life for a few years living in the dirtiest, nastiest, most stressful experience in your whole life??? AND I"M A KNICKS FAN!!! Stay home, Lil Cal. Enjoy your family and leave the big job to the big boys. MILK ME!
MILK ME!!!! The Mets already know they can't afford him. But to save face, they will "put their best offer on the table" until, knowingly, somebody else swamps it. Then they'll tell the fan base "we gave him our best offer, but Jose wanted more". But we know the truth already. They have no intention of keeping Jose.
As a fan, I'm getting cooler with that, but ONLY if that 100 million "offer" turns into two or three front line pitchers. Who, I dont know, but with that kind of jing, there must be two or three players out there who can make a difference in on-field and clubhouse leadership.
The Mets need a jolt, no doubt. Signing Jose is not the answer, but don't make us look like fools with a lame attempt to do what's right in the best interest of the team.
Another Mets blunder - MILK ME!! The sad and crazy thing is, there's still plenty left in the season for all this mess to get worse!! Ever since we started wearing black in our uniforms - its a curse not a marketing ploy!! Doesnt anyone in the Mets front office listen to the darn team song?!?!? "OH THE METS ARE TRUE TO THE ORANGE AND BLUE...." NOT BLACK!?!?!?!

as much as I love that kid from Stanford, I'll take Crawford shooting off passes from cp3 anyday.
