I know Welker has been great for us, but I'd argue the Patriots have done more for him than he has for them. They gave Welker the chance to catch passes from a HOFer, they overpaid for him initially, and now he is getting 10M to play this year. It would be nice to sign him long term, but with Mayo, Mankins, Gronk, Brady and Wilfork all getting their deals, and Hernandez, Vollmer, and Chung coming up I can see why they are hesitatating. Not to mention Brandon Lloyd signed a 3 year deal which should help..
