DeChellis, a PSU alum, called getting the PSU job a dream come true when he was hired in 2003. Two years after Jerry Dunn led PSU to the sweet 16 after upsetting 2 seed UNC. Earlier this year the men's team was kicked out of the main gym due to a career fair and Bon Jovi practicing for their tour. DeChellis left due not getting a contract extension for getting PSU into the tournament, not getting raises for his staff and the lack of respect the administration has put into the program. He also only wants to coach for another 5-10 years and his deal has a guaranteed five years. His wife loves the area and sees himself retiring around that location.
