Really - your argument was that southern education is inferior - you insulted a region of the country - not just a conference. Sorry, Charlie-
US News 2011
No. 2 (tie) University of Virginia (Virginia is in the south, I think - Robert E. Lee thought so.) No. 5 University of North Carolina No. 6 College of William and Mary (Va.) No. 7 Georgia Tech No. 13 Univ. of Texas - that one is kind of on the fringe No. 17 Univ. Of Florida
That is 5 or 6 southern universities out of the 1st 17 (which is all that were on the 1st page) http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges
Another 6 are in one state -California- plus 1 in Washington The Midwest has 3 - plus Penn State if you want to push the envelope.
The only other Big 10 schools on the list are Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois. Didn't see the Buckeyes in the 1st 17. If you are an example of Ohio State education, it appears that your major might have been arrogance.
There were no Big East schools on the list at all, although no one suggests that you can't get a good education at any of them.
You are going to have to find something else to feel superior about.
"The SEC is a conglomerate of states that has the worst public school systems in the country by far"
Jealous Haters. That statement may be true statistically for elementary, middle and high schools, but it is very untrue for the university systems in southern states, which are competitive with any area of the country and are more affordable than in most other areas - check the US News and World Report ranking of US public colleges and universities for the past 5-10 years.
