Posted Thursday November 19, 2009, About: Shannon still in line for extension?
Just when I was starting to like the "U", this type of nonsense pops up. Randy Shannon is the right man to right the ship. He has taken the "Thug" out of "Thug U" and should be commended. Don't ruin what he has started. He will take Miami where it needs to go if given time.
Posted Thursday November 19, 2009, About: Harbaugh won't comment on Michigan rumors
Why on Earth would Harbaugh leave the Bay Area for Michigan? Who would want to live in Michigan versus the Bay Area which is the nicest place in the country bar none? He is now most successful coach Stanford has had since Bill Walsh's short tenure. He is going to be paid more than any college coach deserves to be paid and he wouldn't have to deal with the most delusional fan base in the country. Keep in mind that the garden variety Michigan fans thinks there program is actually on par with Notre Dame when it really falls near the bottom of the top ten under rival Big Ten programs Ohio State and Penn State both of whom have considerably better football histories and programs. Coaching in Ann Arbor is a no win situation, look at how they treated Lloyd Carr who was the best coach they had since Crisler walked the sideline. He brought them half a championship (lucky for them they didn't play Nebraska because they would have gotten steam rolled), he improved the graduation rate from SEC like numbers they had to acceptable, of course he used and abused the general studies major to accomplish that but at least he did something.

Because Florida isn't Notre Dame, it is a stepping stone job.
Posted Sunday August 23, 2009, About: Which writers didn't vote Gators No. 1?
I love how the morons are ripping the only two AP voters going against the well established pro-Florida bias. If I had to put together a top ten, it would certainly be different.

1. Texas - the 2nd best team in the country last year (USC was first) is top dog this year.
2. Penn State
3. LSU
4. Oklahoma State
5. Ohio State
6. USC
7. Florida
8. Oregon
9. Oklahoma
10. Iowa

Just wait, Urban Meyer will be arriving shortly.
Posted Saturday August 08, 2009, About: NCAA scrutinizing Wolverines eligibility
30,000 seat student section? What? Have you ever been to Ann Arbor in your entire life? Try 9K and change, and that is a very liberal estimate, and there is rarely a student who wants a ticket that doesn't get it. The fact is, a large portion of the student body (probably a majority) does not support the football team. I grew up in the area and spent a couple of years there as a grad student. Unlike the hacks on this board, I know from first hand experience.
Posted Friday August 07, 2009, About: NCAA scrutinizing Wolverines eligibility
Don't worry, once they get in they will be railroaded into the general studies major like every other Michigan athlete and remain eligible. It is such shame that such a great school gives football players a free ride, literally. No wonder the student body does not support the football team.
Posted Friday August 07, 2009, About: Does Weis need BCS berth to keep job?
Of course it is BCS or bust for fat Charlie because everybody and their mother knows that Urban Meyer has been lobbying hard for the Notre Dame job, well, except Florida fans anyway. They still foolishly think that their school is not a stepping stone job when it clearly is. Should be funny to see what happens to the falling SEC once Meyer is in South Bend next year and Les Miles is in Ann Arbor and half the schools are on probation.
Posted Tuesday August 04, 2009, About: Cash-strapped Florida gives Meyer huge raise
This raise is proof positive that Urban Meyer is indeed considering leaving Florida for Notre Dame at year's end. There is not longer any doubt, period. It should be interesting to see what happens down south next year after Meyer leaves for South Bend and Miles leaves for Ann Arbor. My guess is they are getting out while the getting is good given the fact that most SEC schools are going to end up on probation sometime in the next two to three years. Gotta love the cheaters from down south.
Posted Monday July 20, 2009, About: Auburn coach dismisses reserves
Coming from an FSU use fan, you'll forgive me if I don't take you seriously. I mean really, Florida State? The only program in the country that can give Alabama and Auburn a run for their money in terms of poor conduct. Too funny.
Posted Sunday July 19, 2009, About: Auburn coach dismisses reserves
This is funny. Every single person in this country who follows college football knows that the SEC is simply dirty. Every program with the exception of Vanderbilt is dirty. Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia Mississippi State. All dirty and none are worse than the league's top program, Alabama, who has earned (but not been given) the death penalty several times over. The SEC is a joke. For all that cheating, they are not even the best conference in America and not much better than the Big Ten and over the history of college football can't hold a candle to the later.
Posted Friday July 17, 2009, About: Coach leaves Tebow off All-SEC ballot
Why aren't people questioning the 11 morons who voted him all SEC. He is the second best QB in his conference and the most over-rated player in the history of the game, period.
Posted Friday July 17, 2009, About: Michigan transfer didn't get along with Rodriguez
I love the people who dismess the 20 plus departures from the program as if they are nothing. Notice how they don't want to talk about the players who left with eligibility remaining but did not transfer and either walked away from football or declared for the draft? These fools don't seem to understand the difference between what is happening at Michigan and other schools with new staffs. In case anyone hasn't noticed, the majority of the early departures were offensive starters and five of them were linemen. Rich Rodriguez is running that program into the ground and sticking your head in the sand even further is not going to do anything.
Posted Sunday June 21, 2009, About: Florida self-reports Meyer violations
The 2001 team is not even the best squad fielded by Miami. Both the 87 and 92 teams were better, by quite a bit. Then there is the little old matter of the 95 Nebraska Cornhuskers who would have skull dragged that group of thugs from the U and the 94 Penn State team would have ripped them a new one as well. The fact of the matter is that the 01 team doesn't even rank in the top five for the last twenty years.
Posted Saturday June 20, 2009, About: Florida self-reports Meyer violations
One more thing, make no mistake, just about every single school in the country has self reported a secondary violation this decade. They are fairly common and nothing to be too concerned about, unless of course they become a fixture of a program over a given period of time.
Posted Saturday June 20, 2009, About: Florida self-reports Meyer violations
I have, it is the reason why every school in the country has a full time compliance office. I really think the new Big Ten model is the way to go. Penn State broke the mold about a decade ago when they removed the compliance office from the athletic department and put in an academic department under control of the University Provost. Since then the most Big Ten schools have followed suit and the number of secondary violations have dropped at the other schools.
Posted Wednesday June 17, 2009, About: BCS change unlikely after all
The only change needed in college football is for the BCS to be replaced by the traditional bowl alliances and arrangements that worked flawlessly for decades and accompanied by a fifty year contract that will finally shut the college football hating fools who endlessly lobby for an unneeded playoff that would destroy the game.
Posted Friday May 29, 2009, About: Paterno not only Big Ten coach eyeing Rutgers
While Notre Dame's academics are first rate, their research is not. They are a very poor fit overall academically. They are little more than a liberal arts college offering little in the way of physical, natural and material sciences, which is what the Big Ten does better than everyone.
Posted Friday May 29, 2009, About: Paterno not only Big Ten coach eyeing Rutgers
Florida beat out Michigan because once people got to see Michigan play and see how over-rated they were, they did not belong there, not because of the layoff. After the bowl games were over it was quite obvious that Michigan was only the fourth best team in the Big Ten.
Posted Sunday May 17, 2009, About: Schembechler's son not sold on Rodriguez
The answer to your question is twice. He is a as good as gone. This team really has not improved by any measure. The offense is going to be equally inept. They may have a move mobile QB but he simply can't throw the ball and what good does a running QB do when your defense can't stop anyone? Look for an opening loss to Western (who ever would have thought that Michigan would be the fourth best team in the state), and another loss to Notre Dame. They should feel fortunate they scheduled D1AA Delaware State instead of the Delaware because they would favored in Ann Arbor. The best they can hope for in Big Ten play is a 2 and 6 record and they could realistically lose all eight. Worst case scenario is a 2 and 10 record, absolute best case scenario, though entirely unrealistic is 5 and 7. Give em a split with the Big Ten Sycamore State squads and a repeat 3 and 9 record in 09 and a new coach by Christmas. LSU fans better hope the Tigers rebound and play for the title again because if not, Les is as good as gone.

Like it matters, they are going three and nine regardless of who is taking the snaps at QB.
