Bum Philips, one great coach died at age 90. Bud Adams the man who hired and fired him two days later also died at age 90. As a long time Oilers fan I always knew Bum Phillips would take Bud Adams with him. Welcome to hell, Bud.
Posted Tuesday October 08, 2013, About: Gordon trade talks heating up
It's easy. The FO want a franchise QB next year. So they trade their stud RB and elevate a 3rd QB. But then the QB plays lights out. But luckily for the FO he is out for the season. But Brandon Weeden comes in, and thanks to Gordon, wins the game. At this rate the FO would be lucky to get a franchise guard. So they are looking to trade Gordon, break Weeden's hands, and if that doesn't stop the winning, they will trade the coaching staff for Matt Millen.
Posted Saturday June 15, 2013, About: Rex Ryan thinks he's better than given credit for
Considering what everyone else thinks of him as a coach, it is impossible to believe that he could imagine himself being worse.
Posted Thursday October 25, 2012, About: Shurmur expected to be fired
You may not have noticed this, but the Cleveland Browns have been "owned" by the Pittsburgh Steelers since their return in 1999.
Posted Monday September 10, 2012, About: Weeden on the path to shell-shocked
He was taken by a team that traded up to get an RB with three knee surgeries, used a 2013 2d round pick on a WR with three failed drug tests, and kept a backup qb to be a controversy in the making, and has a head coach who can't answer questions about the defense because he doesn't watch the field when they play. A very slow sixteen week long train wreck.
Posted Friday August 10, 2012, About: 'Severe' setback in Steelers' offense
Actually, that's the type of play I like to see late in the fourth quarter when the team has a lead. For the Steelers, who usually do lead in the fourth quarter, that type of play calling should work very well for them.
Posted Saturday July 14, 2012, About: Browns see Gordon as a starter
Exactly. They were going to use #1 pick next year on a WR. It's their biggest need. So why not use a #2 now on a guy who would likely be a first rounder next year had he stayed in college.
Posted Sunday May 20, 2012, About: Browns wowed by Weeden's work
I wonder why they censored the sk word for clay pidgeons?
Posted Sunday May 20, 2012, About: Browns wowed by Weeden's work
Not really. If Weeden can handle the pressure it may be the first real QB they have had since Bernie Kosar. McCoy has lots of poise and grit, but no arm strength or accuracy. There's a film of Weeden blasting **** out of the air with a football. I'm not pissed.
Posted Wednesday May 09, 2012, About: Holmgren still loves Colt, opens race
There is no QB competition. They are either pumping up McCoy as trade bait or massaging his morale.

In Holmgren's interview he said this: "The other thing that I expect is that Massaquoi, who's had a couple tough years with injury and not getting the ball thrown enough his way in my opinion..."

That(combined with offering to mortgage the future for RGIII) is all you need to know about the coach and FO's belief that McCoy is a real starter.

That or you think Trent Richardson was selected to compete with Montario Hardesty for the starting RB job.
Posted Saturday April 28, 2012, About: Draft's biggest loser
I'm not upset the Browns chose Weeden. I couldn't handle another season of Colt McCoy floating wounded ducks to receivers. My real complaint is who is Weeden going to throw to? Four picks in the first 50? A draft filled with quality receivers in the first three rounds? No receivers picked? Who do they expect Weeden to throw to?
Posted Sunday April 01, 2012, About: Change of heart for Parcells?
Word has it the Saints told Parcells the defense would injure any opposing player he named in return for him being their head coach.
Posted Sunday January 08, 2012, About: Why Browns may chase Packers QB
I only come on here to read Otis B. Driftwood, but this rumor is as stupid as predicting the sun may rise in the east tomorrow. Yes, the Browns may consider Flynn. They may also draft Griffin, or trade up for Luck, or go all in on McCoy. Then again, they might just pick someone else and play football. This rumor would be more interesting if they tossed Brett Favre into the mix.
Posted Sunday January 08, 2012, About: Why Browns may chase Packers QB
I only read this board for Otis B.?Driftwood. But as a lifetime Browns fan I can say that the Browns are looking Flynn, at Griffin, at Luck, and at keeping McCoy. Only Seneca Wallace is not an option. This is my first post, but jeez louise is Truth and Rumors always this lame?
