I'd like to write "Woody should shut up and leave the football decisions to the football people" but the "football people" with the Jests are such a bunch of morons (in my humble opinion) that he doesn't have that option. What nobody wants to believe, but what is true, is that Tim Tebow gives the Jests the best chance to win, week in and week out. The fact that Woody, Rexy and the rest refuse to admit that speaks to their own prejudices than to any great understanding of football.
Are we really suggesting that Kaepernick played better in this game than Smith would have played? Harbaugh's decision is only smart if Kaepernick is better than Smith, not if Kaepernick simply plays decently. Kaepernick's performance against NO was decent, nothing better. And Smith would likely have played better. All Harbaugh has done is re-open the wounds SF inflicted on Smith in its pursuit of Peyton Manning and created an unnecessary distraction for a team that should be focusing on winning its conference and the Super Bowl. When the 'Niners lose a close game with Kaepernick behind centre, the "what ifs" will start. And when Kaepernick eventually falters and they have to turn back to Smith, who knows how all this crap is going to affect Smith's performance and his focus?
Let Smith rest until his concussion is completely healed, then throw him back in. You don't bench the league's number three passer because of an injury.
Sounds like the Steelers should be working out a couple of free agent offensive linemen as well, now that their top two qbs are out with broken ribs and assorted sack-related ailments.
Oh please, Andy. You've got a struggling quarterback with a concussion and a young quarterback ready to play. Do the smart thing: sit Vick, start Foles. For their sakes and the sake of the team.
What? I thought all the experts considered Wilson too short to play in the NFL? Is it possible he might actually belong on the field with all the taller, more-quarterbackish quarterbacks in the league? Now that's something to Ponder.
Not sure what the rush is. Miami has a perfectly capable backup in Matt Moore and the Colts are truly beatable. Why rush Tannehill back? Seems like the risk to his long term health isn't worth it at this point.
As someone who had the honour of seeing Warren Moon play in his prime in the CFL, I can tell you he's one of the greatest of all time. A fabulous player and a classy individual. Russell Wilson seems to be following in his footsteps in every way and can only get better with Moon's tutelage.
Why not? Andy Reid's blamed his DC and fired him for it. Now blame Vick. (okay, maybe Vick's tendency to turn the ball over has in fact played a key role in Philly's struggles). Maybe it's time to replace the big guy with headset, the walrus moustache and the blaming complex instead.
Oh, I think if he's used right, he'll win some ball games for them. Say what you want about Tebow, he's still a winner.
