I love the way you are thinking, since I am a Pacer's fan. But the unbiased side of me is whispering, this series is just a game 4 letdown away from being tied up with the Heat regaining the momentum.....the Pacers will now face one of their most challenging (and newest) foes...the possibility of success beyond their wildest expectations for the year. I hope they are up for it...the team, coach, President, and fans deserve to be the ones to knock out the Heat and play in the conference finals.
I know this is called Truth and Rumors and all....but really, is this what passes for reporting on ESPN? I'm told from people who have "intimate knowledge" that the Colts are still "considering" RGIII......I don't rely on ESPN for anything anymore except games that are televised there. What drivel.
I think it got evicted from the building right about the time that all the shot-absorbing, defense avoiding so-called superstars returned to the line-up. Too bad, for a week or two there I was actually interested in watching a regular season NBA game again. See you all in June.
Don't you worry fans of other teams....there are two guys coming soon who will clamp down on Lin and shut down this momentum.....Melo and Amare. Wait til they get back and start fighting over the ball and Melo starts taking the ball out top and bringing the entire offense to a screeching halt while he looks for an isolation play to get his shots. Those two boys aren't about to let Lin decide how many scoring attempts they get.....fear not, Melo (AKA The Big Virus) and Amare (AKA Mr. Defensive Hustle) will be the cure for Linsanity!
I realize we are in an era where the term journalistic ethics is an oxymoron....but anyone who listened to the clip can obviously tell that Barkley was referring to it as a scam in the sense that he was getting paid to do something easy and that he wanted to do anyway.....similar to getting paid to watch and comment on basketball games....so the only way FN could have published this article is if the editors are a)incredibly dense and obtuse, or b)intellectually bankrupt in the interest of a salacious headline. Which is it?
Does anyone have a more complete list of his endorsements (beyond Subway and Chrysler)? I want to make sure I never knowingly patronize any organization that would pay this **** money to endorse their products.
I would actually pay money to watch that debacle unfold....it would be fun to watch the players learn the hard way that there is a lot more to making a professional league happen than just the players....and that owners and executives that take the business risk have just as much right to be compensated as the workforce does....people who invest (and risk) the capital deserve the profits. Let's see all these nitwit players invest their own personal money to get a league of their own...let's see them sign their names to the loans and put some of their own skin in the game. It would be fun to watch the thing flame out while those primadonas sat around with confused looks on their faces, trying to figure out why "great players" weren't enough to make it a success. Please, players, PLEASE try to do this!!!!

I've been thinking the same thing. Let all these nitwits pool their personal money and take on the business risk of running their own league and let's see what happens. In the meantime, I think it would be refreshing to flush all these prima donas out of the system and fill the NBA with replacement players that are hungry for a once in a lifetime shot and playing like there is no tomorrow. It would be fun to see guys really fighting to win as opposed to lazy veterans who are coasting on their guaranteed money.
The one difference may be that Penn State doesn't have formal recruiting sanctions or limitations levied against them by the NCAA. For sure they will lose their talent pool for awhile, but will still probably be able to get some "climbers" - guys that were 3 star prospects who would never have had a chance to play for Penn State but might now get offered a scholly....so they may be able to avoid the full level of demise experienced at SMU.....maybe.
I would be more excited about seeing a season with replacement players....guys who are not sitting around acting entitled but that are really taking their one best shot to make a name for themselves....that would be far more interesting than the current NBA product.
LeBron is absolutely right. He should get a LOT more calls. He should be called for traveling, carrying the ball, and offensive falls, as well as technicals for whining every time he doesn't get the preferential treatment he thinks he deserves.
After a long, hard day of working for a living, it is absolutely delightful to see the confused, stupid look on the faces of the 3 amigos when opposing teams don't simply cower and melt away in the face of their epic greatness. I especially love some of the photos of LeBron with a stupid look on his face while aggressive opponents are dunking on him. This has actually rejuvenated my long-dead interest in the NBA. Priceless!
I think Bobby blew this one. He gained nothing by disclosing this, and if his objective was to tarnish those who fired him, I don't think he has really added anything to the negativity already felt by his supporters. He got some bad advice by the people associated with the release of this book. It's a shame.
Really? Does that mean I can write a letter to my family behind the iron curtain now? Maybe I can use one of those new fangled fax machines to send them a note.....
Uh, the answer to the question is no.
