NowI've said this before and I'll say it again. Relaeasing Lt was a good idea for the Chargers bc of the way their team is developing. They have turned away from their glory rushing days of LT to Having Rivers carry the team on his back. by putting more of an emphasis on protecting him and less to runs and protection of their backs their will be an expected drop in yds and tds.. while age may play a slight factor it dosen't mean a complete demise so by trading up for some fresher legs was probably a better idea ( not backing the trade up for mathewes)

I would say niether are a supprise... for this reason

Vick is a great player who has the ability to turn a bust of a play into a huge run down the field and we have all seen that this year and in the past...

LDT was on teh down hill with the chargers.. but was it his fault.. mabey mabey not.. San Diego was/is changing from a runnning/pass to a pass dominated offence under rivers so the o line was transferring to a pass first run later kind of protection ( Indi is a nother perfect example) thus he isn't getting the blocking he was when he had his best years leading to a down play in production.
