We wouldn't blame anything that happened this year on Melo. Most of us are glad to see him gone. Great skills, but a selfish player that doesn't know the word defense. I see your big NY team with Melo made it far this post season. Get used to it.
You must live here in Denver, because you are spouting the same fallacies that everyone else here does. Truth? Elway was a damned good QB and recognized that there were more problems than Timmy's poor throwing. He couldn't read a defense, and if his first option wasn't open, he tucked it and ran. That won a few games, but the truth is that the defense kept them in those games where he played poorly, and when teams overplayed his run game he hit one pass and it was the one that counted.
Tebow is a wonderful young man. The NFL needs more guys with his character. But for QB talent, he's lacking. He's in the bottom quarter of the league. He'll be continue to be someone's option for the next few years until people figure out that he's overrated.
Yep, I was thinking of JaMarcus when this story came out. I think he could throw the pigskin 70 yards from his knees. Illustrates why arm strength alone does not make the QB. As far as I know, he's still avaliable as a free agent....
Yes, but you are comparing him to the poor QBs that Denver had prior, not to better than average QBs. Also, you say "until they start losing", which is what they did at the end of the regular season, backing into the playoffs only because Oakland couldn't win a game either.
Look, I'm not a Broncos fan. I'd love to see the Broncos keep Timmy. Truth is, you'll not do much more than .500 EVER with him. Why do you think no other teams are chomping at the bit to get him? Is it because all of the NFL coaches and GMs know LESS about the game than you do, so therefore they don't see the potential he has that you can spot?
A Denver homer. You need to look at the quality of the teams Teblow played against and beat. He didn't beat anyone good except the Squealers when they were beat up. Any quality opponent beat him up. Timmy is a nice boy, and mama should be proud. He's not the answer, unless the question is "Which Bronco quarterback should get traded or released ASAP?"
BTW, did you actually WATCH Tebow throw last year, or did you just bow down to him and avert your eyes like all the other Denver homers here (I live here too)? He was about as accurate as my lawn sprinkler.
They always quote someone "with knowledge of the situation". Hell, I have knowledge of the situation, and I can make some pretty outlandish statements - come quote me!
True, but I think the point that Zeeker was trying to make was that for every $ a QB takes, that's one less $ to pay for a good offensive line to protect you, or one less $ to pay a receiver with good hands to catch your passes. How many millions do you need?
And let me just add to my previous response. Al would give the new coach exactly 6 games to make the team a winner. If they were not winning by the 6th game, Al was already looking for a way to get rid of the coach and find a successor. The new GM, McKenzie, knows that consistency is important. He said so multiple times. He should understand that Allen will need to get his system in place for awhile before the consistent winning happens.
All of us Raiders fans need to understand that this is a major rebuild. We may lose players we like, and we will probably take a few steps back before we go forward. Don't expect a miracle in the 2012-2013 season. But do expect some major changes that can bring the Raiders back to winning.
Um, wrong. Al Davis consistently hired offensively minded head coaches. Not since Madden did they have a defensively minded coach. Your comment has no merit.
Twitter = the worst thing to happen to pro sports since steroids. Most of the athletes are not smart enough to think before they type a comment on their iPhone and hit send, and too egotistical to hold back on what they say.
