I never said he was a gentleman. It has nothing to do with that. For me (and it's just my opinion), the guy said what everyone knows, and he isn't the only goat in this one. Blame the refs. Blame Blatter and Platini. Henry isn't the biggest villain in the situation.

I've seen the video and it looks more reactionary than blatant. It's hard not to use your hands at times, even in a game where you're only supposed to use your legs and feet. You get caught up in trying to control the ball and the reactions take over. That's why you have referees. They missed the call. It's as simple as that.

Henry told the ref it was a handball. Tough position to be in either way. Sucks that how it's decided.

I don't think he's a cheat though. Arms/hands can be in the wrong place at the wrong time. And it's not even close to Maradona, who blatantly tapped it down and claimed it was the 'hand of god' in such an arrogant way.

How is this effing place still standing?

I hear they bought the property for around 500k via auction. Blow it up, sell the land, be done with these stupid ideas.

The shirt is alright. It's pretty traditional, and very Adidas. It's not good or bad, but it's solid looking without looking like a clown costume. I prefer Nike kits over Adidas, but at least it isn't Umbro. Their kits are hideous. I just don't think it works with a sponsor, much like Ajax or Dortmund. It will be changed once a sponsor is added.

The USA game was surprisingly good besides Bornstien. sometimes it's about taking that one chance and Slovakia did just that. Not too bad for a squad full of newcomers and guys who won't make South Africa. The big question is if Bob flies in some Mexicans for Denmark. I'd really like to see Torres, Orozco and Castillo out there.

I like Rogers, and if he continues in MLS, good for him. He needs a coach who will develop him more. Columbus isn't really a good place to get noticed. Marshall should be playing elsewhere too.
Posted Tuesday October 27, 2009, About: Meola wants to return to Red Bulls
Having guys like this think they can walk up and play in MLS is a problem.

Sorry Tony, walk away and enjoy life. You aren't even talented enough to play for the Red Bulls.

Randy Lerner does own the Browns and Aston Villa, which is interesting being that Villa is pretty successful while the Browns are a sham. The Glasers own ManUtd (and the Buccaneers), and they knew what they were buying into. Kroenke owns the Rapids, Avs, and Nuggets. He will soon be able to takeover Arsenal. Derby is American owned.

Success, money, and business model don't really define if something works or is profitable. You adapt to the situation and make it work for you.

I dunno, I guess this is why Kraft doesn't own a MLB team. This isn't exclusive to Europe. It just depends on if you think you can be successful with the business model.
Posted Saturday October 24, 2009, About: NFL star to sign with AC Milan?
He could play in Scandinavia :-)

He probably couldn't play holding mid or anything technical, but I think he could play up top with relative ease. It might not be year one, but two or three in reserve leagues and daily training and it wouldn't surprise me if he knocked in a few goals. The biggest thing going for him is his fitness and work ethic. While eccentric, he doesn't drink, do drugs, or live in drama outside of his sport. I would see him working hard regardless of what he did and having some degree of success.

On topic:

I could care less about Kraft's crying about how they do things in Europe. There are many leagues with many ways of running a business and for the most part they remain successful. If you don't like the model; don't buy in. Each model has positives and negatives, and for the most part nothing is perfect. Cap or not, you can build winners and build losers.

Kraft should realize that no one cares what he wants. There are plenty of people buying in. No one is feeling bad about his situation outside of himself.

I love 85. Could he play for Milan? Probably not, but the guy is in peak shape and if he spent a few years at it he could play professionally in a league as a striker.

I seriously put nothing past someone like this. Total wildcard.

A bit dramatic don't you think?

I'd say that the Ticos (and everyone else) know to take it to Bocanegra and Bornstein over Dolo and Gooch. Bob needs to consider playing Spector on the left because I can't take those two.

Not for nothing, Costa Rica only is really dominating in the one stat that matters. Aside from that it's all USA, which could put it together, but they will need to take off Altidore because of the yellows, and Feilhaber who is totally absent. I hope they bring in Cooper for Jozy and mebe Torres for Benny. Holden looks nice on the flanks. Overall, just stop shanking shots.

That Brian Ruiz kid has skills. The second goal is class. Nasty shot. Slow-mo on it shows he hit that thing dead on. No swerve; just a bullet.

In terms of Denmark, both Portugal and Sweden constantly underachieve. They have some talent, but I don't know if it was all them or if it was partially a group that fails to live up to the talent they have. More so Portugal than Sweden, but that's just my opinion.

I'll say this. 3am accident and he is in surgery right now can't be good. A car in half can't be that good. Dead girl; not good. I hate to say I am expecting the worse, but he should be happy that he escaped with his life on this one. The soccer career is secondary now as far as I am concerned. I hope everyone is sober.

This makes me pretty sad, but I shall hope for the best. Glad to know he is alive. From what I read the car was ripped on two pretty much.

Garber has done pretty well IMO. I like having the league run by a businessMAN and not a businessFAN. Holy crap, look at Jerry Jones, Mark Cuban, Daniel Snyder, and so on for some fans who need to let their guys put together teams. Same for Michael Jordan. Greatest of all time, but he is a horrible GM/owner.
