They brought in Campbell and drafted Hoyer because, well, you're Brandon Weeden.

Nobody runs the pick and roll better than Larkin. The poise he (and the entire Miami team, for that matter) showed in Cameron the other night was incredible. This team is legit, they have all the elements and, though beatable, will be very scary to face come tourney time. GO CANES!!!
Posted Sunday February 03, 2013, About: Why Denver Kirkland will not be a Hurricane
Exactly. Well said, BCSisnuts. Everyone is spinning this to make the Miami staff look so bad, but look, with such limited scholarships this year we couldn't afford to be jerked around by some kid and then potentially burned by him on NSD, no matter who good he was. If he wanted to be a Cane 100% (like Duke Johnson last year) the scholarship was his, period. But he wanted to wait til NSD, I have no problem with that, that's his right and 18yr kids all are eager for that ego-boosting moment in the spotlight; but it's also Golden's right to tell him that if he wasn't fully on board then Miami had to move in a different direction. It also is probably a sign that Golden has gotten some silent commitments from some other big names and needed to know whether the spot would be open or not. At this point, while I don't blame Kirkland at all, I am glad he's going elsewhere; yes, he's talented, but Golden has spent almost 3 years weeding out the ego-issues that had so permeated this program. Same with Thomas if he chooses to go too, I'd love to have him, but he won't make or break this team, and if his heart isn't eager to bleed orange and green then we're better off learning that now.

You've waited your whole life to be able to talk that kind of trash haven't you, danimal? Miami's on the rise and will be back dominating the cfb landscape again within the next 24 months or so, bank it! And we'll see what you have to say the morning of September 8th after the Canes send you back to the world's largest trailerpark with your tail between your legs.

Um, David, where have you been? You're not good enough to be a starter in the NFL. You had MORE than your fair share of chances, and you proved to be mediocre... at best.

All of you spouting off the trite and outdated Thug G/Miami-arrests rhetoric need to turn your attention about 5 hours north, to the TRUE University of Felons these days in Gainesville (over 25 arrests during Urban's tenure).

Live in the past much, tool???? Why don't you go and look at how many felonies Miami has had in the past 5 years or so vs the rest of the D1 landscape. Actually don't, the truth won't fit the shroud of ignorance you so proudly wear every day.
Posted Thursday November 18, 2010, About: Is Morris Miami's long-term answer?
Ok, forget I said the word "sofla", let's just talk recruiting... you really want to argue that Randy has been a bad recruiter???? Do we live in parallel universes or something?!!? Again, with hardly ANY momentum to work with, he knabbed a #1 ranked class one year, and solid classes every other year, including even last year which was decent to real solid with the addition of Seantrel. Look at my post above, under Randy we've stockpiled talent such as:
Spence, Jacory, B Harris, Ray Ray, Telemaque, Lamar Miller, Mike James, Graig Cooper, Jordan Futch, Ramond Buchanon, LaRon Byrd, Aldarius Johnson, Stephen Morris, Travis Benjamin, Brandon McGee, Brandon Washington, Seantrel Henderson, Demarcus Van ****, Kendal Thompkins, Curtis Porter, Tommy Streeter, Adewale Ojomo, Olivier Vernon....

You consider this "HORRIBLE" recruiting???? Wow. I guess we just see the world differently then. I personally think Miami in terms of raw talent has one of the most talented rosters in the entire nation, with some positions now 2 or 3 deep. Randy failing at recruiting??? Have you looked at our roster??? Mind you, we haven't been a national powerhouse lately and we STILL have amassed the talent we have right now..... we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.
Posted Thursday November 18, 2010, About: Is Morris Miami's long-term answer?
Look, guy, we both love the Canes. They are my passion, and clearly they are one of yours too based on your presence here. There is no 'right or wrong' on debating these kind of things, it's merely my opinion vs yours. So by no means am I trying to get personal, or trash talk one of my own. But I simply couldn't feel stronger that Randy DESERVES the right to see his kids become seniors and see what this roster he has amassed can do next year. You think I somehow have lesser expectations of Miami, man? Cmon! Im an alumni, a long-time Cane fan, lived for ages in Miami, and straight bleed orange and green through thick and thin. I KNOW that we should be competing for championships year in and year out. We expect that, we ARE that! But the fact is that while Randy has not at all proven he is a good gameday coach - and perhaps, therefore, he isn't our long-term answer - there is NO ARGUING that he righted the 'lost at sea'-ship that Coker left, got our program cleaned up, has gotten enough kids to come that he's amassed a roster of some very strong talent (even in the face of REALLY down years for the Canes!), and in my opinion, he has laid the foundation for something special with this group of kids he has. To think of canning him RIGHT AS his first true group of kids become seniors is not only a wrong football decision, it's a spit in the face to all he has done for us. THESE KIDS ABSOLUTELY LOVE RANDY SHANNON!!! Like a father figure. Don't you get that??? You think it would do them GOOD to cut him off like a dead limb and start over with an entirely new regime RIGHT AS they become upperclassmen and feel they can achieve something special??? You don't think the 2008 class deserves a chance of seeing what they can achieve in 2011 under Randy?

People clammed for Tuberville several years ago, Alvarez before that. We don't need an entirely NEW direction for this program right now, not with this roster we have and the foundation we've laid. We need to bring back a revival of THE U! And not only is Randy a father figure to these kids he is the living embodiment of the University of Miami. Period.

Look, man, I can't swallow losses like the UVA loss this year either. This team (which I truly believe in my heart of hearts is special) threw their whole danm season away to U-freakin-VA. Completely unacceptable and maddening as hell to me! Especially with what woulda been an ACC Coastal title game loomin this weekend. But I couldn't feel stronger that the right coach for us right now is Randy, that the right direction for this program right now is the one we're headed. If we beat VT this weekend, get a W against USF, and then win a decent bowl game many more people will be singing the same tune. But even if that doesn't happen, it is ridiculous to think our program is better served by cutting Randy after this year and starting ALLLLLLL over anew as the 2008 class becomes seniors.

This program doesn't need negativity and dissent right now, it needs support! And if Randy doesn't do it next year ("do it" meaning AT LEAST an ACC title and a BCS bowl) then even I will be willing to step back and ask whether we need a regime change. But not yet, bro, not now. Firing Randy after the 2010 season would be downright catostrophic. If you truly love the Canes as much as you appear to, I simply don't understand how you don't see that.

Posted Thursday November 18, 2010, About: Is Morris Miami's long-term answer?
Are you kidding me, bro??? "5 star" LOL! How well did that computer-Scouts-recruiting work out for Coker? Want some athletes Randy has recruited? Ok, let's start....

Spence, Jacory, B Harris, Ray Ray, Telemaque, Lamar Miller, Mike James, Graig Cooper, Jordan Futch, Ramond Buchanon, LaRon Byrd, Aldarius Johnson, Stephen Morris, Travis Benjamin, Brandon McGee, Brandon Washington, Seantrel Henderson, Demarcus Van ****, Kendal Thompkins, Curtis Porter, Tommy Streeter, Adewale Ojomo, Olivier Vernon.... I'm sorry, did you want me to go on?

Your blind hatred for Randy is makin you look the fool, SVT. I say again, you have plenty areas to bash Randy in, recruiting is not one of them.
Posted Thursday November 18, 2010, About: Is Morris Miami's long-term answer?
LOL!!! You REALLY wanna argue with me that Randy hasn't been an un-freakin-real recruiter for The U??? especially considering he took over a program in ashes and disgrace??? Look at the talent on this roster, bud, that's ALLLLLLL Randy! You can criticize him all you want on some other fronts, but recruiting?!?!? LOL Cmon, man, you're making yourself look foolish.

Fire Randy Shannon????? Yeah, because after it's taken Randy 4 years to clean the program up, turn the team around, reclaim SoFla recruiting, get our program headed in the right direction again and winning more games each year, the best thing for Miami would be to fire him as his first true recruiting class become seniors, and start ALLLLLL over from scratch with a new regime. I thought SVT knew the program inside and out? He must not, because if he did, he wouldn't advocate firing Randy Shannon right now. Randy has EARNED the chance to do great things next year, period. And the roster we have right now ALL came 110% to play FOR RANDY, that's just a fact. Firing him right now would put our program back another half-decade. If he doesn't win an ACC title next season it may be a different story, but you've got to either be short-sighted, hot-tempered, or know nothing about the program to think canning Randy after this season is anywhere near a wise move.
Posted Monday October 25, 2010, About: Speculation surrounds Shannon's future at Miami
Randy has done AMAZING things for this program after Coker left it to rot. What garbage to post this coming off a big win where our team finally played to their potential. These Canes still control their own destiny and can win the ACC with a possible rematch against the Noles. Plus it's one of the nation's cleanest and tightest running programs. These are GOOD KIDS and that's BECAUSE of Coach Shannon. Take your negativity and shove it!

This can be nothing but fantastic news for Seantrel (McKinnie is his childhood idol, by the way) and the Canes as a whole. He must be stoked! Welcome to what being part of The U family is all about, Seantrel.
Posted Friday August 13, 2010, About: The nation's best offensive backfield?
I love Ryan Williams, but as a group I'll still take: Damien Berry, Graig Cooper, Lamar Miller, Mike James, Storm Johnson, Eduardo Clements, and Lee Chambers. I've never seen an RB stable this deep before! We have enough studs in our backfield to boast a ridiculous 2-3 deep starter rotation for the next 3 or 4 years.

Did this really just come from a Dook fan????
Posted Tuesday August 10, 2010, About: Miami's Cooper nearing return
I agree with your post, SVT. I love Coop, but I wish he had redshirted a year and came back with a vengeance the following. The fact that he HAS rehabbed to get back now will likely mean that Randy will feel obliged to give him touches even if he's not 100% healthy or effective. With our super deep RB stable we simply don't need him this year - though like you said, by NO MEANS is that a jab at Coop - and I worry it could throw things off. I personally would rather have seen Storm be our RB3 or RB4 and give Cooper another year, now instead Storm will likely redshirt and if one of our other two get hurt and Coop doesn't seem 100% it could be a detriment. Though we'll see, one thing's for sure, I respect the hell out of Coop and wish him nothing but the best. He's a great player!

Good to hear about Seantrel. Gator97, it was never about his ABILITY to play, but rather his ability to get conditioned and pick up the game in time to have an impact THIS year (and ideally early this year due to our grueling start of the schedule) due to him not being here in the Spring. If he proves talented enough that he can actually plug in early and have a positive impact that could be a big big plus for our o-line and in turn out entire offense when we'll need it most!
