Your taxes can't be LOWER than 0.0%. Texas has no state income tax, just like Florida, Tennessee, and a handful of other states. That is what this story is about.
Last year the Cowboys had the worst defense statistically in team history (largely due to an inordinate amount of injuries) and possibly the worst o-line in the NFL. Dallas was 8-8.
Yes New Orleans was, incredibly, even worse defensively. They did have a good O-Line, though. Brees had one of his best seasons. Nearly 5200 yards and 43 TD passes. What was the Saints record again? Oh, yeah, 7-9.
What does THAT have to do with anything? I was pointing out that just because Manning has a ring doesn't mean HE is the reason. In that post season, 4 games, he threw 3 TDs to 7 picks. His passer rating in those games was 71.9, 39.6, 79.1, and 81.8 after posting a regular season P.R. of 101. He was bad, bordering on awful, when they won.
Or he could tear up his knee, get cut, and have nothing to show for it. If an extension with a $30mil signing bonus and probably 40-50mil guaranteed is there for the offing he'd be stupid to wait until free agency.
Manning has been horrible in the post season. Even the year he won his ring, it was because the defense stepped up and saved his behind. Brees throws more ugly picks than Tony does. Brady has an actual oline. He could make a sandwich waiting for a receiver to get open most of the time. The one thing those three have in common? They all have played on better TEAMS than Romo has.
Sorry QB's? Deions was most efficient (read: INT to passes thrown his way) against Jim Everett, Steve Young, and Troy Aikman in that order. Two of those guys are in the PFHOF and considered among the most accurate passers of their era. Young had this to say about Deion:
???There was fear there as a quarterback. When he was in Atlanta he made a couple of interceptions off me ??? when I throw the ball I know whether it???ll be trouble or not. I threw a couple that were not trouble that he took that defied my eye.???
Deion gets criticized relentlessly for not being a great tackler, but to call him a gambler who made a living off of crap QB's is pure nonsense. What Deion mostly did wasn't the INT's so much as the fear of them causing teams to avoid his side of the field entirely. Many many games opposing QB's wouldn't throw his direction AT ALL. DC's had to game plan away from him. That makes the entire defense much better. Deion was at his best against the best. Then add in that he was also one of the most dangerous return men ever and was even a passable #2 receiver and I think he can be forgiven his penchant for avoiding hits.
MJ was unstoppable in the post season. Absolute beast who refused to lose no matter who his team mates were. Lebron ain't that and is why he'll never match Jordan's 6 rings.
The East is so weak right now I don't see any reason they couldn't get to the ECF assuming Pierce and KG are healthy. Not gonna get past Miami without Rondo, but a deep playoff run certainly isn't out of the question. They still play great D when they want to, that's the key to post season success.
Troy called and said you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Aikman has stated publicly that Romo is better than he was, he just hasn't been fortunate enough to have the same surrounding cast.
Does Romo play linebacker or safety? You are aware that last years team gave up the most yards in team history, right? Tom Brady and Peyton Manning would have suffered behind that putrid OLine and complete lack of a running game. Say what you want about Romo, but he is the reason this was an 8-8 team rather than 5-11.
And where were the Giants, defending champs, at during the post season? Elite Eli didn't get a team with a much better OLine, defense, and supposedly, coaching, any further than Romo went.
Ridiculous rumor. The Celtics would have absolutely no reason to do this deal. Sure, LA would do it in a heartbeat...they aren't going anywhere this year and are going to lose Howard anyhow. But what possible motivation would Boston have? Rondo is under a team friendly contract for another two years, have no viable alternative at PG going forward, couldn't afford Howard's max contract even if he did agree to extend with them, AND he's a big man with back problems.
Me thinks there is just some crazy reporter in LA who is in love with Rondo. Last year it was being reported a Pau for Rondo deal was in the works (laughable), this year it's Howard. Next year they'll be reported to be trying to trade Kobe for Rajon.
Thankfully it's not a choice. I hope to god law enforcement can walk and chew gum at the same time, anyhow.
The interest furthered by this case is to set an example. If you don't prosecute Clemens when it is clear he lied then you can't justify prosecuting Joe Six Pack, either. It's a credibility issue. I don't care about the silly trial one way or the other except to say Clemens brought it on himself by demanding to testify in the first place.
They can't prove Palmeiro used BEFORE testifying in front of congress. He was busted later. Yes, it's laughable to believe he started using only after his testimony and his excuse is a joke, but that doesn't really matter. All that matters is what the DOJ can prove.
Bonds was prosecuted for lying to investigators in a drug investigation, not in testimony before Congress.
Clemens demanded to testify in front of Congress because he thought it would clear his name after the Mitchell report. After that dog and pony show, the DOJ really didn't have a choice but to prosecute him otherwise all testimony in front of Congress would lose credibility.
Even Slick Willie lost his law license for perjury, Clemens certainly isn't exempt.

So much for the theory that QB's win games.
