Since the Lakers already have Bynum they are better off with Gasol who is less athletic but more versatile (mid range shooting). Moreover they look pretty much like they don't have to change anything at all...

Ok, first of all I'm puzzled how many ppl respond to this, even myself :) Also stunning that according to Petey024 (30) it can't be racist cause the guy's white. ???
Anyway kmahl is right on. Gallinari isn't whining, didn't come up with it, but just said he didn't like it when asked his opinion. I can understand him because this kind of stereotyping is a little stupid indeed. No big deal or racism though (and he never claimed it was).

Dirk is a great jump shooter. That he can also drive occasionally should be seen as a bonus. He doesn't have a body like Dwight Howard but then you don't blame the latter for not being a 3-pt shooter, do you? Nevertheless Dirk isn't soft. Defense in international basketball is a lot more physical than in the NBA and still he led that tournament in points (27 ppg) and FTA (of which he made 92%).
That said I have a lot of respect for the Spurs.
Oh and for the haters who still call him soft: Dirk was crying cause you don't love him :-)))

If he thinks he can earn more money elsewhere it's his very right to turn down that offer, who wouldn't? Having said that his arrogant comment ("insult") must make him sound like an @ = another Spreewell to people who work their tails off for some hundred bucks a month (without feeling "insulted"). So next time just say "no, thanks" and sign elsewhere but don't pretend you are something special when you are just a frigging role player in a ball game.

@Ejaculator: The only reason why the last finals series wasn't too much fun to watch was Cleveland, not the Spurs! I just don't understand why anybody would fall for the Cavs. LeBron's an excellent player but this can't be said about any other player on that team.
