We could go undefeated till The Game and this ignorant drival would continue. Until we can beat them again we suck it up just like they did for a decade. It will come. I just hope its sooner than later. I predict it for next year.
Much like Stafford they just need to take their time and let it heal. Until they get some starting caliber CB's and a LB or 2, they are just treading water. They are going in the right direction but with the mess Millen left, it will take another year or so of good pieces added to what Mayhew and Swartz have done so far.
Stafford isn't a waif. He's got good size and should be able to take some punishment but that was a crushing blow directly on the throwing shoulder. Its like getting kicked in the balls even if you have a cup on. Its going to hurt anyway.
Oh yeah, maybe we should block the Pro Bowl DE once in a while as well.
It'd be really nice if the next 3 games (UMass, Bowling Green, and Indiana) are not such nail-biters so we could get other players involved and get them comfortable. Robinson will NOT last at this pace.
We NEED a healthy Mule and a mature Howard. And, of course, we also need Zetterburg and Datzuk to play up to to their abilities.
But PuckHead is right. Nick will start declining slowly but surely. We NEED the youth in the D to step up (Ericcson?) and be ready to take over when Nick and Brian start slipping. I wish Kronwall could stay healthy. He kinda reminds me of Vladdy when he hits people.
All the talk going into the game was UConn's D. Who's will be better? I dont know, I just remember hearing a ton about their D and they didnt show it. I do know ND will focus more on containing him than UConn did.
That being said, I agree wholeheartedly with the rest. UConn didnt adjust very well, and Robinson won't last running at this pace. (20 rushes instead of 30 would be OK) I would be satisfied if he continued passing the same as he did this week...19 of 22 passes (86.4 percent)
As for Forcier, he'll get some PT this year. Robinson will get dinged up some throughout the year. If at the end of the year it looks like it will be Denard and Gardner at #1 and #2 for the future, I would completely understand and expect a trasfer.
This is precisely the reason I think he should get one more year after this one. NONE of his recruits are upperclassmen. I would like to see what he can do with HIS recruits who have matured in his system.
