I agree, Big Ten refs have been horrible from the last two ND games and in the Purdue-NIU game at the end they (Purdue) threw a hook and ladder play trying for a last second score to tie the game and the latteral was fumbled but the officials called it an incomplete pass which gave Purdue another play they did not deserve. It was a home Purdue game so I am assuming it was Big Ten officials but not sure. By the way I am a huge Purdue fan so I am not being bias for any one team here.

Wies can call plays but he obviously can not coach young players and get them ready for big games so if he decides to call plays from the press box this year and leaves the leadership roll down on the field to Corwin, then just maybe the Irish might have a chance to win some games.

Ty is a good guy but he did not put the work in that Charlie has in recruiting and some other areas. I'm not really a fan of Weis but I like him more now because he has taken responsibility for the bad coaching and has made changes in his staff and his own coaching techniques (something Ty was given the chance to do and even suggested to do but didn't). I think with the talent ND is getting that next year and the year after they will have big time players that will be juniors and seniors with experience that will lead the team to victories even with Weis coaching. But if Weis cannot get this team to a decent bowl this year then ND should let him go.

Pickle boy...I mean Clausen...has thrown interceptions because he is put in situations where he has to throw and after all he is only a sophomore and will make mistakes. Because the line is not blowing the defense back and creating holes for runners, the defense can defend the pass better because the run is not a threat. He is making some nice completions and touch down passes and some of these are at critical times so there is no need to worry about him, he will only get better.
ND's run defense does need some work but Ringer is a hell of a running back.

Hey biminator, maybe I should be a soar loser like you and say ND gave MSU the game with their turnovers! No, MSU is a good team that I have respect for (unlike Michigan only because of their whiny looser coach) and they deserved the win. I've said it before, ND has the talent but their offensive line cannot block on run plays.

Clausen is good, the running backs are good, but the biggest problem is the blocking on running plays-needs to be more consistent.
I'm waiting to hear all of the excuses from Michigan fans about about how they gave the game away, etc. "To hell with Michigan!"

Robert Huges fumble was a bad call, he was down. The O-Line cannot block, ND only was able to win because they stopped trying to run and Clausen started throwing it.

ND should hire Skip Holtz for head coach.

Charlie is a good play caller and proved that in the pro's and the first couple years at ND but for a play to work it has to be executed properly and with all of the young players last year that did not happen. It was obvious that he did not coach and prepare the young players enough for last year, hopefully he will improve in that area, but I think he should still keep play calling.

I highly doubt Weis will put Crist in as a Freshman. Jimmy will be just fine as long as he gets more protection from the offensive line this year. I am going out on a limb here, but I am going to predict the Irish do better this year then they did last year...I may be full of hot air but I guess I just have a feeling...

The 1988 Catholics vs Convicts is the best game I have seen at ND stadium. Today, though, it might not have the same feel as it did when ND beat the number one team with the biggest piece of **** coach (Jimmy Johnson) and a bunch of worthless thugs. I still remember the look on Jimmy's face that day when ND knocked down the two point conversion at the end of the game. Because of him, I'm not sure if I will ever have any respect for Miami.

MDWolvarine4, Purdue is not a sencond rate University, they are an established top ten Engineering program and they have many new programs that have gained national respect. Based on the lack of inteligence in your statement, it is obvious you are a Michigan grad, let me guess you have a degree in Liberal Arts and Crafts? Purdue football is not to the level of Michigan but their basketball program is far superior to Michigan's now that we have a new coach. Hopefully the football program improve once the new football coach is here (not likely but I'm still hoping).

Even Charlie Weis will be able to win with these recruits and the recruits from the last two years, however, not having a coach that can pep them up and develop them properly they will probably still loose the big games.

LetsGoHawks - I am a lifetime ND fan and I agree with you. I think most Irish fans are starting to realize Weis needs to learn how to coach and prepare college kids. Maybe he should start deligating and letting his assistant coaches have more influence.
