The vidoe seems to show him grabbing his throat, I give you that, but it was not a choke by any stretch, ask Mr. Carlissemo for the definition. And football coaches as well as basketball coaches (not baseball, too pastoral) grab players by arms, hands, jerseys helmets, heads and yes necks on a regular basis. Honestly if you ever get the chance go watch a Div. I program practice sometime and you will as much if not more in an intense practice. Does it make it right, I believe it depends on the situation. But you have to remeber there was sooo much more going on with neil and his father in regards to Bobby to isolate a single incident, which IIRC came out over a year after it happened.

I too would send my son to him, if I was certain my son understood what he would be in for. And I say that because 98% of his former players count him as a mentor, a teacher and a friend. They also say playing under him was hard, but worthwhile. i would not deny my son that opportunity. And I will tell him to ignore Kelvin Sampson insane amounts of phone calls...

Neil Reed was a chump who lost his heart to play he should have quit...No excuses for Bobby if he did choke him, but don't discount Msr. Reed's culpability in the situation...far from innocent.

Somebodies hurt...When I called my brother complaining they went out and got CC his comment was..."don't worry we all know Sheets will be on the DL at some point..." I love when he is right!

Minus all the stabbings that go on all game right?

I have only been to new Comiskey once so your opinion holds more weight...just don't steal some ladies money and it should be smooth, right? Unless you are a first base coach...hehehe.

And I am fairly certain even cubs fans loved the big hurt.

All the bells and whistles aside, which my son is too young to enjoy anyway, I base it on fan behavior, which is why I wouldn't sit in the bleachers, for me or my family ever again. I would not be as comfortable in the Cell with my son either, and the 300 and 400 levels at Citizens bank are not fun either.

And agin, thenieghborhood is of little concern to me, however the point could be made that most of the crap going on in Wrigelyville is imported, and the South Side crap is a bit more home grown.

And if you grew up in an all Cub family...what the hell happended to you? Or were you "rebelling?" hehehe...just bustin your chops.
Posted Monday June 30, 2008, About: What started U.S. Cellular Field fight?
Mr. Prison, I went to Comiskey about a dozen or so times before New Comiskey, which I went to once, and I never went to the Cell well kinda but not when it was named as such I have indeed not taken my family to either as I only got one a few years ago. Well I had one then but now I have my own.

I grew up attending games at Wrigely as often as we could win tickets through contests or convince my father to spring for some cheap seats.

Having experienced the enviroment at both, I assure you I would feel more comfortable at Wrigely. And to add after 4 games here at the Bank, I will not go back with my family unless I can afford to sit 100 or 200. It was horrible at the 300 level the 2 games we sat there.

*And I assure you, I live in a place as good as the South Side for guns stabbings and the like...doesn't mean I want it at the ballpark. The ballpark should be a respite, not warfare.

Don't bother hating Sox fans, it only makes them happy...just ignore them like the rest of us usually do.

And SouthSideHitMan, I would not take my family to the bleachers anymore, though there was a time I might have thought about it, which is kinda what I was saying, however I will not and would not have ever taken them to Comiskey and sit in any section and certainly not the 'Cell. I have and will again enjoy the friendly confines from just about anywhere else in the stadium save the bleachers.

Would it have happened if beer wasn't involved, probably not. We will never know for sure, but I'll tell you that it would be a much more pleasent experience for a family if there were no alcohol served at sporting events. I wont take my kids to a ball game because 1) I can't afford it anymore and 2) because it is SUCH a bad enivronment for children,

Hi, I'm Troy McClure | 06/30/08, 12:02 PM

But my point is that crappy things happen with or without alcohol. I find it amusing people blame beer sales though the story doesn't mention alcohol at all. I am guessing if he was indeed intoxicated, he would have gotten charged with public intoxication as well as theft. The idea that it wouldn't happen without alcohol is silly. As to taking your kids, I agree. However I have been to events with no alcohol sales which were as bad if not worse than the 700 level of the old vet or the new 400 level of the Bank. I hear that the bleachers in Chicago are almost unbearable 9they didn't used to be) perhaps it is matter of bad people behaving badly and letting bad people off the hook by blaming the phantom beer helps no one in my opinion.

Lets think stats people...40,000 peaople at the game Saturday, maybe 50% above legal drinking age for an even 20,000, of those ( a low estimate i understand) half, for 10,000 were imbibing and of those maybe a quarter were blasted, 2,500 (low again I know but bear with me) and 1 guy, or .0004 of the drunks, not that we actually know if he was drinking or not, but 1 guy steals money and a fight ensues, but people blame...alcohol? Sounds like the guy was just a jerk drunk or not. However the amazing leaps of logic to blame beer sales astounds me.

Unklesam...the only difference with your "work" example is that I would venture to guess that few (if any) people have fought their co-workers, in the office, as a result of their disliking them. Big Z's unstable and the best pitcher on the team, that's why this stuff matters.

-Prisonmatt07

You must live under a rock. Where do you work Kumbaya Institute? I personally had to brake up a pushing match between two co-workers myself, and I do social work.

But that still doesn't answer the question. That Zambrano and Edmonds don't care for each other will do what exactly? And please save me the trouble of asking you to provide prrof of your answer lest I dismiss it with the same dismissiveness as you claiming few if any co-workers fight.

"Seems to me that Zambrano never lives up to expectation that he be a number one starter."

Hey KenoshaMark, me thinks the professionals disagree with you

I think he is saying your mom prisonmatt...

And for the record, I was wondering if all of you (I am making a big assumption here regarding the working part) work every day with people you do not like, correct? Nobody says you have to like them and doesn't hinder your job performance (or it shouldn't) so who cares if you do not like them? And odds are you wouldn't have anything nice to say about them, correct? Why then do you care what Z has to say about Edmonds?

Love Big Z...will take the head case all day long. Loved Edmonds too though he played for the Cucking Fardinals I don'tr hold it against him anymore...though i do hold against him his current batting average and fielding skills. Here is to hoping playing for the greatest team in the greatest city on earth revives the old guy.

Give me a break snoop dog...nice name by the way. Funny nearly every single player welcomes playing for Chicago because the fan base is so strong and loyal. Many former players are still in the organization on many levels due to that loyalty. And it is one of the most storied franchises in baseball regardless of the silly 100 year thing uninfomred morons like you toss around. How 10,000 wins. Only one other team in baseball has done it. Sure a ring would be amazing but I love the franchise for its history, ballpark, tradition and most of all the loyalty the fans show the team, the players and each other.

Not cardinals fans though you talk about an annoying bunch...
