When doing a Mt Rushmore for a historic franchise like the Yankees you have to make it a slice of history as well. Some eras can have two guys but it will have to be the best era in that franchises history. Of course the Babe represents his and I would go for Yogi for his. Jeter fits for the modern era but I wouldn't put two from that era in there. That last spot is up to the remaining obvious three of DiMaggio, Mantle or Gehrig.

Boxing is the most dangerous sport you can take part in. There a handful of deaths every year across the world and there isn't a more brutal sport you can take part in.

Bull fighting isn't all that dangerous. I have been to a bull fight and the bull has almost no chance. They have him wounded before he even enter the ring and it isn't one on one like so many people think.

I will say Frank got round 1. Not a stupid topic. Not great but for this site a pretty damn good one.

Outlaw would be devastated if Chipper ever was pinched.

So far yes but I don't think it should be a shut out just yet. Best TD we have had in a long while.

How come AD is never mentioned with steroids? Just about any other athlete blows his knee and comes back stronger than ever there are allegations of PED use? Some guys who are just good get the allegations but AD seems to get a pass. Not saying he should be accused but in this day it seems no one gets a pass on this.

I would say that right put as good as an argument as you could on this.
Posted Sunday February 17, 2013, About: Plot for Star Wars VII/ NBA dark horse team
Is there such a thing as a Dark Horse in the NBA? I guess if it all it takes is win one round than I guess its possible but the NBA playoffs are the worse for upsets. No parity in that league with only 9 different champions since 1980.
Posted Sunday February 17, 2013, About: Plot for Star Wars VII/ NBA dark horse team
The only thing that has me the least bit interested is that Lucas won't be directing it. Episodes 1-3 where pretty bad. The 3rd being the best but still only something I would call less than good.

I just don't see very good story lines coming out of the last 3. What will be the conflict? The empire has fallen and the main villain is gone. I just don't see 3 movies to make here.
If you are GM in the NBA you need one of the top stars. No league has lest parity than the NBA. I don't get why anyone even watches this league. Since 1980 they have had only 9 different champions. Stop wasting your time with this star driven league. If it was actually team basketball I would give it a chance but it isn't.
Football isn't all about the numbers. If that was so than Joe Montana wasn't all that great either as his numbers didn't really compare to those of Dan Marino. It is about putting your team in a position to win games.
QBs can last longer today because they aren't allowed to get hit anymore. With the rule changes eventually all of Favre records will fall be it Luck or someone else. They have to stay healthy though which Favre did his first 19 years or however long in the league.
There was Manning to Luck as well.
It isn't just Belichick who will cut a player if they have another who can do it cheaper, it is the way of the NFL. The problem with cutting a franchise QB like Brady that it is far more difficult to replace him. With Favre the Packers had Rodgers and Montana had Young behind him, these aren't common scenarios. The Colts had a chance to start a new with a QB that was considered a can't miss, again not a common scenario. Teams can go decades without replacing a QB like Brady. It is possible yes but Pats fans should consider themselves lucky if it can work out that way. Very doubtful they find someone who can replace Brady by the time he is done playing.

As Dyhard has said, this isn't like replacing skilled positions or guys at other positions. HOF QBs don't grow on trees.
Posted Wednesday January 16, 2013, About: Peyton Manning is a sorry excuse for a playoff quarterback!
One was a blatant pass interference call that can't be called his fault. He hit his reciever it got deflected.

He put up enough points to win the game. Winning in the playoffs is a team game and that was demonstrated that day even if you can't see it. He puts his team up 7 with what? Less than a minute to go and their secondary gets beat by an average at best WR and you blame Manning. That is being a hater plain and simple. Tebow will never QB a playoff game again, that doesn't make him better, only a fool would say so.

I know he had that INT in overtime but Champ Bailey had more to do with that loss than anyone on the Broncos. He gave up 14pts all by himself.

OK left is just ridiculous on so many levels.

Football is a game of substitutions and different packages. You can't field a team of backups for a game on Wednesday and have a squad for Sunday. Most teams don't have 10 offense of linemen or roster spots for several positions.

Right, well that is already being done. The fines are always getting bigger and I think it needs to be kept in check more.

I see one that need to be done, not should but NEED. 1) Get the college replay system. It is far superior and I the only reason I think they stay with the current one is because it makes them go to commercial. I think it is ridiculous that we require coaches to officiate the game and correct mistakes. The process in college is faster and the coaches rarely have to challenge.

No backing into the playoffs is when a team is playing like garbage at the end of the year and losing games. There is more to the playoffs than just locking a spot up, you play for position too and the Ravens where still trying other than week 17. That defense isn't what it was.
Posted Tuesday January 08, 2013, About: NFL Divisional Playoff round.
It is totally spinning it. No one tries to lose like they did to end the season. They where getting beat by just about everyone. Losing 4 out 5 to end the season is backing into the playoffs.
