Oh and let's not forget the influence of organized crime. No problems there either.

NBA players in Las Vegas. Legalized gambling and prostitution. Nope, don't see any trouble coming from that.
Posted Friday October 23, 2009, About: Bradford asked 49ers QB for advice
Getting QB advice from Alex Smith goes something like this:
Play great in college.
Sign a huge NFL contract.
Play awful in a few NFL games, get benched, then sit and count your money.
Posted Wednesday October 21, 2009, About: Mark Cuban makes case for steroids
"aren't ALL drugs harmful without proper supervision? "

Our president does not think marijuana is and he won the Nobel Prize (perhaps by legalizing marijuana he is hoping to be named NBA MBP).

IS ALREADY TOO MUCH!
Posted Wednesday September 23, 2009, About: Mayor: Sacramento may lose Kings
They can play anywhere they like as long as I don't have to help foot the bill. As a Sacramento County resident let me make this clear: 9.5% PERSONAL INCOME TAX, 8.75% SALES TAX, AND 18 CENTS A GALLON TAX ON GASOLINE

She's only 17! Quit looking at her chest and butt.
Posted Friday July 31, 2009, About: Shaq challenges Beckham
So now it's confirmed: Shaquille O'Neal is the new Dennis Rodman. They'll both do anything for money. Next up, Shap wrestles an alligator, Shaq gets a sex change and tries out for the WNBA, Shaq does "Dancing with the Non-Stars", Shaq acts (oops, sorry that actually already happened, and wasn't that a treat).

This just proves that no matter how much money someone makes, it still can't buy dignity or class.
Posted Wednesday July 01, 2009, About: Tiger bites back at Brown
Tiger Woods' foundation helps people worldwide. Tiger Woods carries himself with dignity at all times. Jim Brown is just an angry ex-con, who WAS a great athlete. How many people are being helped by Jim Brown? Anybody, anybody?

Lincecum is worht more than the entire Cleveland starting lineup
Posted Monday May 11, 2009, About: More fuel for Dodgers-Giants feud
There will always be one thing all of us giants and dodgers fans have in common which the yankees and red sox fans will envy. We live on the west coast where the yankees and red sox fans wish they lived. By the way do NOT consider this an invitation, we don't want you here.

In numbers it's bigger than NY-Boston, since it divides N. Cal. vs. So. Cal.
Posted Thursday May 07, 2009, About: Shaq training for MMA?
Maybe he should train for competitive eating.

Too bad he never spent much time training to shoot free throws.
Posted Thursday April 30, 2009, About: Sources: PGA may loosen booze rules
The LPGA needs sponsors. They should be going after booze companies like John Daly after a divorcee gold-digger.

Well they are in D.C., that federal taxpayer bailout should be just around the corner. Thanks Emperor, er I mean President Obama.
Posted Thursday April 16, 2009, About: Pedroia rips California hometown
Woodland is near Sacramento. Sacramento and many surrounding communities are nice places to live. Pedroia is right that Woodland is not one of them.
Posted Monday April 06, 2009, About: Will Giants pay ace Lincecum?
guess you never heard of guys like Walter Johnson (with the Senators), Steve Carlton (in the early days with the Phils), Ernie Banks (with the Cubs). These guys played on some bad teams but still produced, and in todays dollars, would be getting more $ than A-Rod.

PAY HIM SABEAN! We giants fans have suffered enough since 2002.
Posted Thursday March 12, 2009, About: Kobe goes off on trash-talking Artest
Top 5?

Sorry Professor Naismith, ever heard of these names: Chamberlain, Jordan, Jabbar, Bird, Erving, Malone, Magic? Those guys would take Kobe to school, every game.
Posted Thursday February 19, 2009, About: Mays helped M's land Griffey
Here's how the conversation should have gone:

Mays: "Junior, how about playing for the Mariners again?"
Griffey: "Anything you ask Mr. Mays."
Mays: "Good choice son."
Griffey: "It was an honor to speak to you Mr. Mays."
Posted Monday February 16, 2009, About: Is Manny his generation's best player?
In the last two days I've read SI columns on Manny being the best player of his generation and Pedro Martinez being the best pitcher of all time.

For a sports magazine, the writers sure don't have much perspective on the sport of baseball. I am convinced that even though I have no training as a writer, I could come up with a better column.
