Posted Wednesday November 25, 2009, About: Deacon stinks
Deacon Jones was one of the best defensive lineman ever. I'm sure he showers and uses deoderant just like everyone else (except for the french). Ergo, he does not stink.

Congratulations you get the award for the undisputed, most uniformed, ridiculous statement ever made on this forum.

Just to give you a little perspective, the leagues each had 8 teams until the early 1960's. that meant far fewer players made the majors, so only the very best were playing in the majors in prior decades. Fewer players=tougher pitching to hit, and better hitters facing those great pitichers.
Posted Wednesday November 25, 2009, About: Colts are the best team in the nfl.
For all those voting right, would you bet on the Saints if they played the Colts? Thought not.
Posted Wednesday November 25, 2009, About: Herschel Walker is greatest SEC RB.
The fact that this is even close points to a conclusion that is painfully obvious in TD's. More recent players get too much credit. I suspect few of the voters ever saw Walker play in college and don't really give credit where it's due. Walker was nearly unstoppable, he was the main reason GA won the national title. As a measure of how good he was consider who he beat for the Heisman, John Elway.

Here's one player/decade that probably no one will agree to but: Barry Bonds in the 1990's. That was before he took steroids and still Bonds dominated in nearly every offensive category.
Posted Tuesday November 24, 2009, About: John McEnroe was the bomb
ever heard of Bill Tilden? Thought not.
Posted Monday November 23, 2009, About: is obesity a hinderance to success?
Although not actually sports, I believe obesity is a major hindrance to being selected as one the of SI swimsuit models.

How obese does one have to be before they can no longer bowl? Obese people have a definate advantage in sumo wrestling.
Thank you, I'll be here until Wed., try the veal.
Posted Monday November 23, 2009, About: AL MVP?
Thanks for making my earlier point so obvious.
Posted Monday November 23, 2009, About: The 2009 Heisman Trophy winner is...
once again folks, you are all avoiding the obvious: Barack Obama wins the Heisman. Sure, he didn't actually play football but he stands for all that is good within the game. This is the reason he won the Nobel and will be the same reason that Taylor Swift is giving up her music awards to the great and powerful Oz-bama.
Posted Monday November 23, 2009, About: AL MVP?
Mauer earned it. That being said, there are undoubtedly Yankee homers who will disagree with Mauer being named MVP. The Yankee homers are wrong, but that won't stop their arguments.

good luck Pi.
Posted Tuesday November 17, 2009, About: The Redskins case should have gone to the Supreme Court
Freedom of speech (actually expression) is sometimes overrated. That being said the team owner has the freedom to call his team anything he chooses. If offended the only option is to not buy a ticket and encourage others to do the same.
Posted Thursday November 12, 2009, About: All-Time Top 5 NBA SG's
If you ever watched Maravich (check out his highlights on Youtube) you'd put him right behind Jordan. The man could score from anywhere inside of 30 feet. The one year he played with a 3 point line he made 10 of 15 shots from behind the line. The numbers would've been much higher but Bill Fitch refused to play Maravich (for reasons no one can understand).
Posted Tuesday November 10, 2009, About: The BCS Strikes Again!
Are you saying games against Troy, or Louisana-Lafayette, or Western Florida school of cosmetology should not be credited to how great SEC teams are? Blasphemy on fannation, it's the equivalent of saying Barack Obama is unqualified for the Nobel prize.
Posted Tuesday November 10, 2009, About: The BCS Strikes Again!
Claiming that they play in the Super Tough SEC really does not fly either since there are only 3 ranked teams in the SEC, puts them tied with the Mountain West Conference, behind the ACC, Big East, Big 10 (all with 4) and the Pac 10 (with 5)

That is a true statement left. Unfortunately SEC homerism is rampant on fannation and many people here will argue how great LSU is despite their merely good performance this year.
Posted Monday November 09, 2009, About: Best "Now Nonexistant Teams" of all time
The Seattle Pilots.

Look it up folks, they were a MLB team.
The left argument is indicative of the level of thought put into TD's nowadays. You have equated dirty play with toughness. That goes along with the other things bantered about nowadays: Tom Brady is the best ever, MMA takes more skill than golf, the SEC is the best conf. in history...
Read up on your sports history before weighing in folks.
Posted Monday November 09, 2009, About: COWBOYS ARE THE TEAM OF THE DECADE
Left has as much chance of winning as the Raiders.
Posted Thursday November 05, 2009, About: The Yankees Should Re-sign Hideki Matsui
Given the $ the Yankees spend to buy championships, what difference does it make? Sign Matusui or spend like a drunken sailor on somone else. The end result is the same: A championship, albeit one that was based on money more than skilled baseball mgt.

Wow, bet I'm the first person in Fannation who can use the term "albeit."
