Mir vs. a Nogueira not hampered by illness and the result wouldn't have been Nog getting blown out like that.
I posted previously that Wanderlei Silva is a BJJ black-belt (under the Nogueira's I believe) but he never utilizes it because he wants to knock people out. If both Chuck and Wanderlei diversified their game, they still could be very successful IMHO and not be relegated to middle-tier fighters.
Same thing can be said for Wanderlei Silva. He simply cannot come brawling like he does and justify it by believing he's got a rock-solid jaw. He can also benefit by improving his technical boxing skills, and again going to the ground. I wonder how many people know that Wanderlei Silva has a black-belt in BJJ? You just don't know it because he wants to entertain with the stand-up. He can become more successful if he would use some of those other skills he has.
Didn't Rooney express his desire to remain with Everton? Remember Saha demanding his way out of Fulham to get to United? Robinho forced himself out of Real. The list just keeps going on and on.
Now let's consider Gina. The UFC should just simply hold a one-off fight between her and Cyborg. That's a fight that would bring in a lot of viewers. After that no more women's MMA if they didn't want it. I would think that some other upstart organization would pick her up, for television numbers showed that viewership rose when she was fighting.
Dana should at least consider her for WEC.
Danzing won TUF 5, not TUF 7!!! TUF 7 hasn't even begun to air yet!
How'd he end up at UCLA? I don't keep up with SDSU anymore (I'm in San Diego, that's why I keep up with them lol). Did he transfer when daddy was fired?
Adding two more games to the schedule = more revenues flowing in. Which means a win win win situation for the NFL, the players, and the owners. More revenue = larger salary cap = more money for players. I honestly would keep preseason at four games still, for I do believe they're important for getting NFL players prepared for the rigors of the upcoming season, but hey some players skip preseason games altogether (L.D.T).
Yes, more risk of injury for players, but then there's more money to be made too. I could see the players getting behind it.

--Seau did not retire from the Chargers. The Chargers traded him to the Dolphins for a 6th rounder. He then signed for the Patriots.
I hear he gets $250,000 purse to fight (without win bonuses). That's insane for someone green like him, but he does get the PPV buys
Scottc1010, most fighters fight below their real weights, most always cut some amount of weight to make it to a lower weight class. While Silva does cut a lot of weight, it's premature to say that he's much bigger than his opposition, almost all of whom are cutting weight themselves.
Middleweight needs an elite-level BJJ artist, that's the only type of fighter that can have a shot against Silva. That guy Rousimar Parhales looked good in his fight, I'll be keeping an eye out on him.
