Good thing they held on to Price.

Size and strength produce bat speed, so hence the biggest strongest players usually hit the most HR's.

He's certainly big enough for that power to develop. But then again so is Ryan Sweeney. That dude looks like he should hit 40 bombs a year, but has middle infielder power.

Boston loves Cecchini's upside. Listed at 6'-3" and 220 lbs, they believe the power will come. But what they love the most is he gets on base. He lead all of minor league baseball last year with a 443 OBP.

Their top hitting prospect Garin Cecchini, is also a 3B. He's already in AAA, so I would guess if anybody unseats Middlebrooks. it'll be him.

Unless he's willing to move to the outfield, I don't see Boston involved at all.

Ben Cherington and Jed Hoyer, made the deal as acting co-GM's. Although after they won the WS in 2007, Larry tried to take the credit.

He did have issues with Boston, in fact his nickname was "Little Manny".

They loved him in the minors. They just loved Josh Beckett more.

In fact that trade was made while Theo was on his little hiatus, and after he came back said that he wouldn't have made the deal.

The problem is, that he's 39 years old with a lot of miles on that arm. Not to mention he's about 140 lbs. soaking wet. It's nothing short of a miracle in what they got from him in 2013.

They need to monitor his appearances, especially early in the season. That's why they acquired Mujica.

If Pedroia is down for a considerable amount of time, Drew may find a home back in Boston.
Posted Sunday April 13, 2014, About: Report: Jon Lester rejects Red Sox lowball offer
Hard to believe the Red Sox actually thought he would accept that offer. Freaking Homer Bailey got 105M. IMO, Lester is worth more than that.

And if one or two of all those young arms join the rotation someday, they will be lucky. To think any of them are going to be better than Lester is really reaching for the stars.

The way Garin Cecchini is looking so far in AAA, it's only a matter of time before he takes the 3B job away from Middlebrooks. Bogaerts has worked hard in improving his defense at SS, and looks a lot better than most people thought he would. All in all, they don't need Drew anymore.
Posted Monday April 07, 2014, About: CC on A-Rod: Who?
A bench-clearing brawl broke out during Sunday???s annual charity hockey game between members of New York City???s fire and police departments. The matchup-turned-fistfight took place at the Nassau Coliseum, home of the NHL???s New York Islanders.

Got to love charity.

I can see Arod in Miami, if Loria gets him for next to nothing.
Posted Monday April 07, 2014, About: CC on A-Rod: Who?
If this his his make-or-break year, he better get going. Is he still hitless for 2014?
Posted Monday April 07, 2014, About: CC on A-Rod: Who?
I think they will just release him. They have the money, so why put up with the circus that he will bring with him.

If this was a young Arod still hitting 45 and driving in 130, I'm sure they would deal with him. But a 39 year old has been with severely diminished skills, coming off basically a 2 year hiatus?

I'd be shocked if he ever played another game for the Yankees.

I'll bet Dustin Pedroia looks like the white Ryan Howard next to this guy.
Posted Monday April 07, 2014, About: CC on A-Rod: Who?
I heard he got to the table late, thinking he was safe now with Joba gone.

My condolences to you and your wife Lou.
Posted Wednesday April 02, 2014, About: Slimmed-down CC walking a thin line
Feldman knows how to pitch at 88-89, he's done it his whole life. CC on the other hand seems to need to be at 95-96 to be effective. Some pitchers can adjust, others fade away.

But this was the Astros. The equivalent of a AAAA team. What's he going to do when he has to face much better lineups?

This is not good for the Yankees.
