As for the commercials, I like the Ram farmer commercial. I am sure there are some political spin already about it. I am trying to avoid hearing it. I like the halftime show, but I was hoping Jay-Z would have made an appearance.
The odds makers in Vegas had the Ravens losing to the Broncos; that did not happen. The odds makers in Vegas had the Ravens losing to the Patriots; that did not happen. The odds makers in Vegas had the Ravens losing to the 49ers; that did not happen. Time to stop the hate, and congradulate. The best way to go out Ray Lewis.
According local sport talk radio here in Kansas City, it is unsure that the Chiefs will pick any QB with their #1 pick. The Chiefs have not drafted a QB in the first round in over 25 years; maybe 30. P.S. I like the Leon Sandcastle pick.
I agree that the Detroit game was poorly officiated; but where is the outrage. If they were still the replacement refs, we would send the lynch mob after them. However, these are the "real" refs and they get a pass. They are doing the best they can, and we will update the rules next year. I am just saying....
"Don Zimmer will be back with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2013, serving as Senior Baseball Advisor. This will be Zimmer`s 65th year in Major League baseball."
7. The replacement refs are going to be a non-issue.
The reason that the refs are non-issue is because the use of instant replay. With use current use of instant replay, all important calls will be reviewed. Expand the use of replay, then the NFL may not need refs at all. (Future prediction for 2032).
I have two names that popped into my mind imediately.
1. Micheal Jordon. Remember he retired several times. He won his first 3 NBA championships (back-to back- to back), then retirement #1. He went and tried baseball for two years. What if he stayed in the NBA for those two years? Then he came back to the NBA and won 3 more NBA championships (again back-to back-to back). After that came retirement #2. It not time for him to retire then.
2. Mickey Mantle. He IS a hall of famer, but could not stay healthy. What if he played a couple of seasons without getting hurt.
The London closing ceremony was very good. It was great seeing Pele. The Spice Girls was good also. (I am surprised to admit it.) The best part of the closing ceremony was they played Queen. "We will, we wil, rock you!" I am excited already for Rio in 2016.
"the arrogance he showed during his career and his personality.." Peronality is NOT reason to keep a man out of the HOF. Ty Cobb was not a nice guy and was a racist, but he is in the HOF.
I totally agree on 3 out 4 events you mentioned. My only disagreement is BMX biking. This is just an off-road bike race. I got allow that to be in the olympics.
Who is this going compete witht this team? What is this team for? Who knows the best high school players in the nation? You might know a few high school players that are in your region of the country, but that's all. If you point a national publication of high school players, they our just giving an educated guess.
"Is it because my own beloved Canada doesn't seem to have any big-name stars this time around who are sure-fire bets for medals?" Yes, that is it. If you know at least one athlete that you wanted to cheer for, and was a favorite to medal, then you would singing a different tone.
I wonder if London can top China's opening ceremony.
Your so called non-legitimate AL DH players would be the 1st players to come in PH on a NL team. So why not let them PH or DH in the 1st or 2nd inning?
First: It is Kansas City; not Kansas. Kansas City is located in the state of Missouri; not Kansas. You might think that the state line is not a big deal, but is it a big deal if you live in the area. Second: It is New England; not England. England is located in Europe. New England is located in the northeast USA. There is a big difference between England and New England. Third: If you are a NFL fan, then I would not have to tell this. In fact, I doubt that you will read this post. If you are not a sports fan, THEN DO NOT POST ON THIS SITE!
I hear everybody is saying that all BCS conferences will have 16 teams some day. However I hope that does not happen; and I do not think it is a good idea. Remember the WAC had 16 teams once. In football the WAC 16 had four divisions with a complicated non-divisional rotation schedule. With a larger conferences you have more teams to try to keep happy. The reason why the Big 12 is breaking up is because everyone is not happy. The reason WAC 16 broke up is because they could not keep everyone happy. Sounds like the Big East is breaking up, because it is getting too big, and can not keep everyone happy. I think a 12 team conference is a perfect number (maybe 14 would work), but not 16 teams.

This got to be some kind of record.
