timely pitching and timely hitting. the problem with ERA and batting average is that they don't tell you anything about when the pitching was good or when those hits came. you can allow two runs and lose, or allow eight runs and win. you can get three hits in ten at-bats with the bases empty. i don't think we have a statistic that factors this in (maybe we do and i just don't know it). well, we do have a statistic for the overall team ... it's called wins and losses .. lol. but not for individual players.
threats to "move the team" are hollow. where are they gonna go? if this was 1958, they'd have some choices, but the only markets left are worse than the one they're already in.
changing the subject slightly ... why isn't Florida a good baseball market??? they love spring training. why don't they support the teams during the regular season? that makes no sense to me.
there's a stretch!!
but then .. her hair isn't the only thing in that picture that's not natural.
reaganonmics!
i think the hitters make that decision for you, Jamie.
and while you're at it, you could, you know, maybe think about getting some good players, too.

"damn, i'm sorry i got caught. next time, i'll try harder to cover my tracks and make sure i get away with it."
