Mickey was a .300 hitter throughout his career -- with power, speed, and a great defense. It was a damn shame he let his career average sink down to .297, or whatever he ended at, by not retiring two or three years earlier.

I was glad that Pedro did not allow his ERA rise over 3.00 before he got out.
