Lidstrom and Stuart were gone before the season started so you can't say they overcame adversity in losing them since they weren't there to begin with.
It wasn't a surprise to the coach was it?
The only team he had to concern himself with was Columbus...that's right, Columbus...and Columbus' goalie, much like Lundqvist for the NYR can't score...so they better have made the playoffs.
The Great 8s World Championship run was short lived as the US beat Russia 8-3...Ovechkin did score and add an assist but guys named Galchenyuk and Stastny scored more for the Yanks. And some guy named Smith had 5 helpers...
But the poor Islander was hooked, slashed, butt-ended, speared and slewfooted all at the same time just like Sid was on that OT call earlier in the series!!!
I guess if it was some guy named Crosby playing for the Isles hauled down on the game tying goal when Malkin picked up the puck in his own end, there probably would have been a penalty called...
Good for you Rex...

Carl, most coaches want their team to score...it helps the team win games...then again, not so sure with Arthur Fonzarelli.
Must be a sign...
Learn a lot about the game...
Are you going to teach him how to dive Mike?
