MSU was called the Aggies. Oklahoma State was called the Aggies. Nice posts on this subject. For what it's worth, I feel that Dantonio does not get enough credit for the job he has done at MSU or Cinicinnati, Central Michigan for that matter. You won't see him on Comedy Central anytime soon but he's does a good job. MSU may have a few problems early this year but he won't pull a Charlie Weis on the MSU fans.

No, it's not. If a guy like that can change maybe you should consider it. What did he earn, a million? How was your weekend?

Thank you for the information.
Posted Saturday June 27, 2009, About: Ex-Irish TE may transfer to UCLA
I applaud you, you seem to have a wealth of knowledge at your finger tips. I do not agree with your position but that's okay, we can agree to disagree.
The discussion was about a ND player possibly transferring to UCLA. You took the position that academics were the reason.
Several posts after your's cited a South Bend paper stating that it was possibly not an academic issue.
It seems to me that all you really want to do is wax eloquently and give your ego a boost. Good luck with that.
Posted Saturday June 27, 2009, About: Ex-Irish TE may transfer to UCLA
To #13.
So you thindk that only ND and Stanford high standards? What about Northwestern, Vanderbillt, Duke and others.
Moss would not have been eligible at Marshall that year either. But that's where he ended up. Something in your recollection doesn't make sense.
ND is fine university, they are not the only one or two as you would like to have people believe. Your statement is why so many people jump all over ND when times are bad, in a word arrogance.
Posted Thursday May 28, 2009, About: Memphis faces NCAA allegations
While this is a Memphis problem, it is still a Kentucky problem. Where are the Kentucky fans? I thought there would be at least one defending the decision to hire big John. It all makes me wonder about when Chaney wanted to take big John out. Maybe he knew something?
Posted Sunday May 24, 2009, About: Army AD upset with Notre Dame?
Sorry, you it wrong. There's protocol and ND is not following it. ND believes it is bigger than anything or anyone. They are Army and that should be enough.

How about several million African Americans? It may be a little push but what would you say if they want to fly the swastika? People give a crap, especially when it stirs emtion. No, I am not a bleeding heart liberal.

I didn't see it, so I can't say too much. It sounds to me like much ado about nothing.

After Louisville and Cincinnati the only school would be Syracuse, sorry.
Posted Friday May 01, 2009, About: Joe Pa eyes Big East schools for Big Ten expansion
You are correct the SEC is first in average attendance in football, the B-10 is second. For basketball it's the B-10 followed by the Big East.
You are correct the Missouri or Nebraska move is a longshot. It will be a cold day before the B-10 opens the doors to the all knowing ND.
That's why I think the logical move is either Louisville or Cincinnati. Of the Big East, the only school the B-10 would consider is Syracuse. That's my opinon anyway.
Posted Friday May 01, 2009, About: Joe Pa eyes Big East schools for Big Ten expansion
If I am not mistaken, these schools have had some discussion with the B-10 before. If you can forget athletics for a moment the B-10 is a group of pretty good academic institutions that participate in athletics. There is much that can be said for that.
Now for the greedy part. I think you'll find that the B-10 either leads or is close to leading in attendance for football and basketball. The B-10 network while in it's infancy, is generating revenue for every university. That's why Missouri and Nebraska would at least listen.
Posted Friday May 01, 2009, About: Joe Pa eyes Big East schools for Big Ten expansion
With the economy and travel costs what they are there two schools that really make sense, Louisville and Cincinnati. They may lack academically, because the B-10 is one of the strongest conferences when considering academics.
Without considering economics and travel the B-10 should look to Missouri and Nebraska.
It will be some time before the B-10 will invite Notre Dame enter, Notre Dame wants to be the tail that wags the dog.
Posted Friday April 10, 2009, About: Ames steams over Masters slow play
Sorry just cannot agree. My guess would be that if you think about it carts don't make any sense, if you aren't physically unable or over 50. I will say this, the pros are the reason play is so slow. Go and watch the play on any course and people imitate the pros from practice swings to lining up putts. Very few golfers are ready to play when it's their turn. And too many golfers play on courses that they shouldn't be playing. Everyone thinks they have to play from the tips!
Frankly, an accomplished golfer wouldn't be in favor of carts.
Posted Saturday March 28, 2009, About: Calhoun hints at recruiting errors
If the NCAA hands the document to UCONN, then it gets worse. If it happens that way UCONN is displaying a lack of institutional control, which has already been vetted by Yahoo. This could get ugly for UCONN. Not being a fan of the do-gooders we call the NCAA, I hate to say that!
Posted Saturday December 06, 2008, About: Notre Dame AD sets Weis' goal
Recruiting analysts may never have played or coached. So, people get giddy when there are five stars after Jimmy what's his name. 5 no, maybe 2.5. Think about these names; Fullmer, Tuberville, Croon, and others. I am not advocating firing anyone. If there is a coach who needs direction and goals it's Mr. Weis.
Posted Saturday December 06, 2008, About: Notre Dame AD sets Weis' goal
Whether you love or hate ND, this a very difficult position. Is Charlie a good fit for the job? Regardless what I think, ND is going to play the hand that they dealt themselves. ND is not playing this close to the vest. No conference, fine. We'll play for BCS recognition. Every year ND is mentioned for BCS potential, by fans and alums, they have not really been BCS caliber for quite a while. Under the Golden Dome is a myth, painful and real. No myth here.

Not to create an argument but the military schools don't give scholarhsips.
Posted Monday January 21, 2008, About: Did WVU use minority candidate?
People become offended, when race is brought up. The BCA does not demand anythng, they are attempting to open the door to opportunities, they are not attempting to kick the door down. The article leads me to believe that some mistakes were made by the WVU adminstration and Magee.
The most difficult statement many people can't make is, "As a black person you are as good or better than me." This problem does not exist on the field or in the arena, it exists in the upper echelon. The good ole boy fraternity still exists. If you don't agree that's fine becasue no amount of discussion will change your opionion.
Posted Friday January 11, 2008, About: Can Aussie challenge Tiger?
I agree with Beast and the Good Doctor. He may be good, time will tell. Zip it up and learn from the experience because it is an experience. Think of all the other golfers who were going to unseat Tiger. My guess is the the one player to watch is Tiger himself. There may never be another palyer like him, in any sport.

Juice, your opinion is noted. I am sure that all the travel agencies will make a not of your opinion. Have you ever made a positive comment on anything? I'll bet I can predict your retort.
