You could have 2 winners - points winner and chase winner. Hockey did it in the past when they used points. Hell, they could even have a different sponsor for the chase. Sprint Cup winner is most points and BankAmerica Cup for the chase, or whatever.

At least Danica is good for some fireworks at an Indy race, and the Busches are good for some at NASCAR.

The Camry is apparently the "most American" car in the country.
The foreign car is now the American car. Kia just opened a new factory in Georgia. Volvo is scouting new sites for their first American factory. For every 2 of the Big Three plants that close, one foreign auto maker opens a new plant. I for one would welcome Honda into NASCAR, or Nissan, or any automaker which builds its cars here. The Toyota is now as american as apple pie. Losing them would be more devastating than losing Chrysler to our economy.
Tony: Look, Kyle, who gives a <bleep> lets fight in public and sell more T-shirt.
Kyle: Dude.
Tony: Exactly. We can both make out on this deal, next race, you bump me around a little bit and I can go after you later on, we can even have our spotters throw a few punches at each other.
Kyle: Dude.
Tony: Glad we are in agreement, ok, now go say something stupid to the press.
Kyle: Thats easy, all I have to do is open my mouth.
Tony: I know.
Kyle: Not cool.
Tony: Sorry, but it is true.
Kyle: I know, I cant help myself, runs in the family. I will grow out of it in a couple of years. But I should have at least one championship by then.
tony: true, but there is always me to stop you, you know.
Kyle: Well, junior sure aint gonna stop me <laughs>
Tony: <laughs>
Kyle and Tony together: <laughing so hard snot is flying everywhere> <under the breath: "junior winning championships">
Kyle and Tony together: <laughing so hard they cant breath>
Sounds like they are on the same page to me.
