You've read me blindly defend this for months? That's interesting considering I've posted very few times since maybe August.

And I'm not blind, I'm just waiting for all the facts. The university, as an academic institution is what I said, in reference to the fact that they will bounce back from this. It's already starting.

Well, parents of abused children have come out and said things, positive things, actually. And you don't know me or my background so don't go making assumptions about anything.
What, someone has to be a parent of an abused kid to be outraged? Seriously? NO ONE is saying the admins didn't sweep this under the rug. But to say "a school that harbors molesters" is ignorant. And misinformed. That right there implies EVERYONE KNEW. And that isn't the case. Yes, I've read all accounts. But there are always more sides to a story. We will see when all the facts come out.

And the people responsible ARE being villified. But to sit here and claim that they knew and did nothing shows a lack of knowing any facts. It may come out that this is true. But as of right now we don't have that knowledge. I'm tired of people saying that people who are at Penn State or the school harbored this and that. Please. You don't know that, first of all. And yes, people have given support to those who KNEW NOTHING AND ARE INNOCENT. People like me, and the many fans and the current players. So yes, we do deserve something because we are also just as embarrassed, shamed and outraged as many. But you are forgetting that there is NO PROOF that Joe knew anything and let anything go on. Nothing worse than a liar? How about people who condemn people not knowing the full story? I fully blame Joe for his part in all of this. But to say he knew, to say he's the only one? People are treating him worse than Sandusky. And where are you getting 25 years from?

Your stupidity is astounding.

Penn State will recover. They just have to go through this. Most people with a brain don't blame the school itself, as an academic program. Nor do they blame the actual football team. Just right now it will take a lot of rebuilding, mainly because it's basically a whole new staff. That is why they are leaving. And they don't want to risk any NCAA sanctions as well. It's understandable, but Penn State will bounce back. The amount of support people have given is amazing.

Give it time. They will come around. It's hard for us Penn Staters right now. There is a lot of pain and confusion going on. The posters here with their high and mighty attitudes can just go somewhere with themselves. As far as we know, Paterno is not guilty of anything so that can just stop now. The foundation and the school will always be Penn State to me. While I understand what the alumni is saying, I don't agree. I will always be loyal to this school and the football team. We needed to hire from outside. Now we need to focus on what to do with the rest of the staff. Kudos to Paterno for being graceful.

This is going to get really, really bad. And as wrong as Joe was for not doing more, the nastiness falls way above him. I doubt highly he turned a blind eye on purpose. But the more I read, the more I realize that I think even he had the wool put over his eyes. That being said, as much as he DID know (that is a fact) he should have done something after that monster continued to be on campus.

Then again, we can all say that now. I've read some things and wondered...would people really do the same? Or would they be so disgusted, confused and outraged...shocked and in disbelief almost like a "make it go away" kind of thing..... I don't know. I just don' tknow.

Sacrificial lamb my foot. He was a grown arse man who WATCHED A TEN YEAR OLD GET RAPED and went home and told daddy. Rather than beat the CRAP out of him, or at the very least CALL THE DANGED POLICE!!! SO Joe, granted should have done more, did his legal job by telling his superiors (I work in a school, it's a tricky area) and we can debate about the follow up sure, is in trouble and scum but THIS WITNESS is a lamb??? SO many people knew and NO ONE did th right thing here. PERIOD. I will continue to love and cheer for PSU fr I know that those monsters do not represent what I was raised PSU stood for.
