About the penalties, aren't the Flyers the most penalized playoff team this year? And weren't they ranked like 3rd most PIMS/game (about 16 I think)? (btw Washington had 11 PIMS/game, so the refs think that the Caps are less likely to take a penalty, whereas they think Flyers do a lot of deservedly penalized plays. I dunno about Montreal though)
Although the thing Olie has is being ginormous in net and being able to push away attackers to dive onto a loose puck.
Well now everyone's complements of Olie being "classy" and understanding that sports is "business" have been thrown out the door...
Priority B: Sign Mike Green
Priority C: Sign Fedorov and everyone else who needs a new contract and who's not a long time vet like Kolzig
Priority D: Bring the roster down to two goalies
Priority E: Trade Milan Jurcina and/or Tom Poti to make space for Alzhner and Eminger and Shultz all in the same night.
I think Backstrom/Fedorov have great chemistry with Ovechkin. The Caps score so many goals when OV rips a shot of a clean faceoff win, and that's what Fedorov brings. Plus, Nylander and Clark will come back, as well as Pothier. And next season defencemen Karl Alzhner is coming! (captained Canada to WJC win; the only other current Cap to win WJC was #8)
