It's great to see the player development that has taken place throughout the organization, isn't it? For all the good things that happened during the Jocketty years, player development was not one of them. Those core early 2000's Cardinal teams were made up almost entirely of guys acquired by trade, with Pujols being the only exception.
Nice to see how bright the future looks with that Memphis roster.
Kyle has been good at times for the Cards over the last five years, but not great. He's a decent #4 starter at his best, but the Cards have too many young, cheap arms in their system to even think about bringing Lohse back into the fold.
I agree with you, man. I don't understand why they focus on minor things, but can't fix the major issues with the site. I wouldn't take much IT time to fix the handful of major issues that plague this site.
Good blog, and here is this Card fan's perspective: I obviously wanted him to stay, and would have loved to see him retire as a Cardinal. That being said, I'm glad the Cardinals didn't extend out to that length and dollar amount of a contract. He's simply unlikely in my opinion to be worth that contract in the last 5 years or so.
I don't begrudge Albert going for the most cash he could get. I find the victim card that he is playing a little annoying, but I don't have hatred or animosity toward AP. I wish it would have worked out in St Louis, but it didn't, so move on. Pujols gave the Cardinals a ton of great years and memories, and it has been a privilege to watch him play every day. He's also done a ton of charity work in St. Louis and been a great part of the community, not to mention that he helped bring couple of championships to town.
I'm pretty pumped about Hitchcock being here. I was at the game Saturday night against the Lightning, and the Blues worked as hard for 60 minutes as I have seen in a long time. Maybe it's just the new coach honeymoon kind of thing, but so far the results are promising.
Elliot got the SO on Saturday, but Halak is starting to look better lately too.
Good post Slinky. It's almost unbelieveable how bad the numbers are. You'd almost think a team could bring up their AAA staff and have a better ERA than 7.30

Go ARIZONA CARDINALS 3-0!!! (not something I get to say very often)
I'd also like to go to a World Series game. I've been to several Cardinal playoff games, but never had the good fortune to go to a World Series game.
A minimal amount of IT time should fix the primary issues with the site.
Good luck with your new QB.
