Agreed. Their eyes aren't on the glove, so I kind of understand that part, but the other umps should have seen the pitcher catch that ball.

I'll have to read that one. I'd recommend "The Last Boy" as well, if you haven't already read it. Certainly covers the demons and his shortcomings, but also presents some positive things about his personality that I didn't know.

I'm not quite old enough to have seen him play, but I wonder how good he would have been without the injuries. Sounds like he basically played his career with a torn ACL.

That is a great story, I've never heard that one before. I always liked Fisk, but this gives me even more respect for him. Deion was always a "me-first" kind of guy.

Great post, and I agree. This isn't a panic situation. Yes there are injuries, but the team is dealing with them, and the W-L record is 28-15. No reason to rush Wacha.
