No, I think it's more when you go through coaches like the Piston's have lately, you end up having to look under rocks to find someone willing to coach the team.
News Flash: College QBs don't get more accurate in the NFL. If he can't hit the receivers now, he won't do it in the Big Show. Then again, Andy Reid drafted a guy that tossed like that so you never know...
I think the point was (and is) that a lot of great players in the NFL didn't play against top-flight competition in college, but their physical skills translate well into the pro game.
The one thing this year's draft lacks are those "gotta have this guy" players. Call it Newton/Luck/RGIII burnout or whatever, but this draft is loaded with players that can start for a lot of teams immediately.
I suppose if a team wants to guarantee they get what they want, they'll have to consider jumping up to get ahead of any other team that might take "their" player. The Chargers are a good example. If any of the top-rated LTs get to 11, then logic says that's the pick... unless Tavon Austin is there to give the QB a go-to target...
I think the point is that Braun didn't get suspended because of a technicality, a legal loophole that his attorney exploited to get the charges (and suspension) dismissed. So it's a sad statement that a juicer in the eyes of most fans (outside of those that are enablers, which is what your comment sort of shades you as being a member of that group), got an award for "Athlete of the Year".
If 50 had said it was an "ironic" thing, would that have gone down a little easier?
Ignore this Ray-duh fan Mr. Spielman. For your 23rd and 25th pick, the Lions will give you the #5 choice, high enough to get Tavon Austin, *and* giving you the opportunity to rub it in their face on opening day in Detroit.
The Rams already "won" in the trade. They sent the #2 pick to another team for a boatload of draft picks. ANY other player but RGIII taken in that spot would have gotten them flamed. Drafting RGIII with Sam Bradford on the team would have gotten them flamed. The Rams have 2 first round picks in a draft that is chock-full of linemen, linebackers, cornerbacks, and other anchors to build a team up for the long-term. The team has a good coach and front office to make the most of those picks. That's a HUGE win in my opinion.
Uh, unless that's Alabama's road uniform, I don't think he "just scored". In fact, it's more likely that's from the combine this year. His eyes are closed because he's dreaming of all the money he's going to make after he ran a sub-4.5 40.
With that resume I'm guessing the hookers are the only action he's seeing.

It's going to be an interesting Thursday night.

Definitely a "win" all around, right?
Well played 50, well played indeed.
That's just the kinda guy I am.
Yeah, and JaMarcus Russell says he can pass a Krispy Kreme without buying 3 dozen to go.
Next.
