Hey, what can I say, the refs are costing teams games. It seems like it is happening one way or another in each series to keep things close. Lots of game 7's going on means more money for the NHL.
The refs do play a huge part though. Nobody can deny that in game 1 of the Rags-Caps series the refs should have blown the play dead before Wsh got their game tying goal, which got them to OT and allowed them to win the game. That was a critical call and one that was not correct.
Agreed! If Crosby wasn't out it would still be the Pens, but Buttmann needs to make his money some how. Now its the Caps turn to get all the calls and will probably still lose the series.
He constantly tries to murder others by hitting their heads with flying elbows and blindside hits. He deserves nothing less. Lowlife piece of trash he is.
Good news as well, we will see Matt Cooke get a major suspension. Thank God, it's about time. He also made Lemieux and Shero look like idiots for their thoughts on zero tolerance for head hits. Somebody please put a bullet through this guy's thick skull. **** idiot!!
I still think he's got a little left in the tank. Maybe a good fit for a guy like Kovalev now that he has matured since last playing there. Orpik is out now too, so all they need is a body now.
Agreed the sucker punch was BS and they could have given him more than 4 games. The hit to Tangradi was also ugly but I do not think that warranted a 9 game suspension. The league has let worse than that go with no suspension at all.
Lemieux made a fool of himself after issuing his statement the other day, that's all I can say. I've always liked Lemieux until that statement. He just shot himself in the foot with that, and if he needs to rethink whether or not he wants to remain a part of the NHL, maybe he should just step down from his position and retire completely.
Sure it was, they had players injured by the penguins and were laughed at by the bench on television. They stood up for themselves and wiped the smiles off the pens' faces. They policed themselves against guys who took cheapshots at their goaltender and Comeau. Johnson took a sucker punch on DiPietro when DP thought they were just playing around. Talbot did a blindside hit on Comeau and caused him to get a concussion. They stood up for eachother and not only did they beat them up physically, they beat them on the scoreboard very badly. Nobody can say the Isles guys were focused on taking cheapshots and were out of control, because in the midst of the rough stuff, they put up 9 goals. Any team that was out of control probably would have allowed 9 goals, not score 9 goals. Lemiuex then made himself look stupid by issuing a statement against the NHL and said they did a horrible job in punishing the Islanders. He expected more punishment??? How can he talk about circus sideshows when he employs the dirtiest player in the entire game in Matt Cooke. Cooke is lucky to have received only 4 games for his horrific hit from behind on Tyutin. It is unbelievable how he got 4 for that and Gilles got a whopping 9 games for a simple elbow that just happened to injure Tangradi. Oh well its over now so who cares?
Yes and how did bylsma avoid an automatic suspension and fine? Hmm, makes you wonder doesn't it? Someone needs to tell Lemieux that when your goalie injured the Isles highest payed guy and laughed about it, there will be consequences. Not to mention the very dirty hit by Talbot on Comeau that gave him a concussion went unpunished by the league. The islanders took matters into their own hands as they should have and still got fined while the pens didnt enenthough their player left the bench to join a fight!
