To just extrapolate numbers to show what a player would have done is lazy, totally ignoring the swings (hot/cold) of major league baseball. I understand that a batting average is exactly what it is, an average, but to say that a player would have kept up a .360 pace through an additional 38 games is ludicrous.

True, but when the percentage drops under 60% it shows that those dinks and dunks aren't being completed regularly either.
