Check on his commitment to his child by the way he cheated on his wife and family! I was there when Mike played his first game for UNC and was a fan for years. He was a great athlete.....but sadly, thats where it ended.

Don't count on seeing him in the stands. Just look at his lack of commitment to the Charlotte Bobcats. He's been MIA ever since he took the position. Of course, Davidson would be about 15 miles away from Charlotte; however, I don't think he could stand Curry's hugh shadow.

One year after Katrina, my sister-in-law in New Orleans complained that the city "still has pot holes in the street," and that the "government was responisble to take care of the city." Please, can we finally admit that this is just a feel good move to prop up a city that has been mismanaged locally for years? When George Shinn plunders the city like he did Charlotte, I guess it will be the government's fault too!
By-the-way.....the sis-in-law didn't get out of the city last week...she knew others could save her.

Big Mitch, I got to agree. Fox coached last year as if he still had Steven Davis. Rub Run Run! I really like Jake the man......but he is often unable to make the pinpoint throws needed to go all the way. Please guys, prove me wrong this year!

Random thoughts...If it was a matter of preventing homelessness or getting needed medical attention, would it really matter if he went in the 1st or 2nd round? If IBM offered major bucks to a freshman to come develop computer programs, no one would care. Sad, however, that people just want him to make more money....either for his school or for his parents. Do prents sacrifice for their kids anymore?

One step in the right direction for the program....hopefully one of many to come. Maybe you haters have a short memory , you're not old enough to remember, or you just repeat like a trained parrot "Didn't know Duke had a football team." but the program was respectable in the 80's. It's been a dismal 20 years following.
Yes, the standards are high to get into Duke. Coach K has often been criticized for not recruiting enough "inner city" kids because of the requirements. Keep in mind the number of players that have to be recruited to field a football team. Although it has it's disadvantages, other quality schools have shown it can be done. Duke is first and foremost a school.....and does not fancy itself as the minor league for the pros.

Too subjective to argue who was the best.....probably some kid who played with an inferrior O line but still worked his backside off. Anyway, back the the point of the story. Here's to ya big guy, for the courage to talk openly about something that will no doubt put you in the line of fire for hate mongers everywhere who live through their heros. It's a brave step that can help others. I wasn't one of your biggest fans, but you've got my respect now for being open about a the taboo subject of mental illness.
