I see it as being more a case where the team doesn't realize that they have a bullseye on their back because they are the defending champions. Every team plays them like its the Stanley Cup finals. Once Boston understood that, they started winning.
I'll admit I hate Kyle, but it looks to me like he was coming down and deliberately drove into Harvick. NASCAR seems to be leaning right. When they got them in the trailer the main topic of discussion was about the incident on pit row. Doesn't sound like they were too upset with Bush spinning Harvick. Just wonder how (irked) they are going to be when Harvick spins Kyle. They'll let us know on Tuesday what the punishment will be.
Mendenhall's comments were honest and from the heart. People may not agree, but they should respect his opinion. I also heard that he lost some endorsements because of his comments. I don't understand that at all. Its not like Tiger or Ben and he didn't condone what Bin Laden was doing he just thought it was wrong to celebrate the way people did. Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I don't understand the celebration either. Its not like its the end of terrorism. They probably have 10 guys lined up right now ready to take his place. What's the big deal?
Oh puhlease! The women reported the car stolen when she forgot where she parked it. She found the car but then forgot to call the police and tell them to cancel the stolen car report. Its 1:30 in the morning, the cops think they have two people joy riding in a stolen car. If I'm a cop I'm going to be absolutely certain that I have everyone under control before I do anything else. The Police reacted correctly and so did Hines Ward.
As was stated in some of the T&R threads, they league hasn't had enough time to study him. If he was in all year and was still playing this well in March, then I'd say yeah.
He still looks shaky at times and needs to work on his puck handling skills.
I'd like to see the coaches being allowed to challenge a goal. Have them review goalie interference, deflections with a high stick and redirection with a skate. Right now, its my understanding that the coaches cannot request a review. Is up to the officials and if they don't want a second look, then it doesn't happen.
You can't have appeals for other calls or non-calls because this isn't football. There can be several minutes between a non-call and a play stoppage to appeal the non-call.
Your saying suspend Harrison. We're saying for what? He hasn't done anything that's not being done every week on the football field. He didn't lead with the crown of his head on the Fitzpatrick hit, his head was up. There was no roughing and there shouldn't have been a fine. What about Hines Ward in New Orleans. He catches a ball and the defender leads with his helmet into Ward's helmet. No flag, no fine. Why not?
It was a different era with different rules. Its almost like comparing apples to oranges. The Pottsville Maroons won the championship with a bunch of coal miners. The running back's former job had him pushing fully loaded coal cars up a ramp and dumping them. Can you imagine how strong a runner that guy was? I'd put that guy up against any linebacker today. Incidentally the Maroons had their title stripped after they beat the 4 horsemen of Notre Dame in an exhibition game. The owner of the Chicago Cardinals cheated them out of it so he could have the title.
Didn't mos of the players mentioned as being born outside of the US attend American colleges? What about Canada? They play football that is pretty close to Americas version. I still don't think that football will be it the Olympics.
