"NHLPA Probe to get Messy" - What kind of headline is that?!
Add a certain body part before the word probe and you'll see why this made me chuckle.
Posted Thursday October 22, 2009, About: Will Hockey Night In Canada dump Leafs?
"...Leafs continue to draw big ratings and will continue to do so in the immediate future..." When that's all that is being broadcast-ed you would hope so.....

and I say to myself "My common sense is tingling"

Posted Tuesday October 13, 2009, About: Kessel deal may force Leafs salary dump
There are some logistical problems with the kessel deal: He has no center. I don't doubt kessel's skill but no one is gonna confuse him as a lemieux; for all his scoring abilities he can't create space for himself and the canes exploited that last year by simply banging out savard and leaving kessel redundant. Grabovski is no savard so this deal is worse off if burke can't find a decent center. This was a two-piece puzzle but burke only got one half.

A phoenix citizen with common sense? You sir have made my day :) Now only if you can share your wisdom with gary from the shire then were pretty much all set.

citing macleans's magazine, Balsillie is credit worthed as co-ceo of rim at 4.8 billion + 2-3 more billion on actuall net worth. So out of sheer estimation, the dude literally has some 2 billion in cold hard cash and the rest as net-fixtures. If Bettman wants to play hard-ball, jimmy's probably thinking "Bring it B!T[H"

Actually gave me real chuckles... Haha thanks
Posted Tuesday August 25, 2009, About: Thrashers: Kovalchuk talks going well
This should be a no brainer: The man IS atlanta thrasher. If you take kovalchuck away you would get phoenix all over again: talentless debacle that even other mediocre teams feed on.

Caps Lock my dear man is not cruise control for cool
Posted Thursday August 20, 2009, About: Balsillie: NHL accepts criminals as owners
agreed - retaliating on insults probably isn't a great idea but no one can deny that the NHL has welcomed some really shifty crooks amongst its ranks... most are in jail or headed there - Wangs previous co-partner comes to mind or Boots in Nashville
Posted Wednesday August 19, 2009, About: Kessel's future unclear
They tried Marleau as wing in San Jose and he simply looked lost. The line was Marleau as LW, Cheecho as RW (or the other way I can't remember) centered by Thornton. It didn't last long because he typically avoided the corners like most centers and had no heart to gain the line due to a combination of fearing a blind-hit and an over-reliance on his wingers to take the line pass or carry it in.
Posted Wednesday August 19, 2009, About: Chelios asks Leafs for job
Don't get me wrong, Chelly has nothing else to prove and his creds simply speak for itself but I don't think he'll work well anyways with Burke's "ground n pound" system. Plus the NE division means getting plastered by a 6"9 Chara or a 6"7 Gill and I don't think he'd like to retire on a stretcher.
Posted Monday August 17, 2009, About: Bruins-Leafs deal died
T&R busted out that time machine again, I don't think they'll ever get the clue that none of us have one.
Posted Monday August 17, 2009, About: Leafs pull Kaberle off market
Is this after the fact that Burke realized that his coveted anchor defenseman that he signed (Komisarek) puts up less than 10 points a year? Because if the next best d-man from Kaberle only skates as far as the blue-line then this he got this one right
Posted Monday August 17, 2009, About: Hockey Canada: No insurance gaps
Actually you can expect to be treated the minute you get to a canadian hospital knowing it'll be free. A large reason why our taxes are ridiculous, because sometime, somewhere in BC, a hobo is being admitted to a hospital while I'm working 8 hours a day riding a desk in Toronto so I can pay for not only the Hobo from BC's medical fees but also his 7 other hobo buddies that they'll eventually find within the next day and a half. Welcome to Canada mate.

The KHL getting serious and Robert Esche an all-star all in the same sentence... Hmmmm am I expected to take this seriously?
Posted Monday August 10, 2009, About: Report: Why Kane helped beat cabbie
can't comment much about Kane but i definitely smell the Hossa curse all over this. Notice how all of Chicago's "misfortunes" started when this guy signed his name over dotted line?
Posted Monday August 10, 2009, About: Slovakia gets Hossa's goat
Quick Nitpick of the day: If you add the letters E and L to HOSSA you can actually re-arrange and spell ****H0LE

I heard Rick Tocchet already has a betting pool on this. Put me down for 20 on Jimmy!
Posted Thursday August 06, 2009, About: Coyotes may still end up in Hamilton
Milwaukee? You know I actually can remember not so long ago when both the NHL and fans (yes... actually agreeing together) said the exact same thing about Atlanta. Well we all know how that went down. Personally I'm partial to Winnipeg for two reasons: Fan support was NEVER a problem, lack of facility support along with operational costs tied to a down-turn economy were the problem; a problem no longer present and second, Winnipeg already has a newly built arena that hold some 15-17K people (Finished sometime in 2004 I believe).

Aledo, Texas: It's in Parker County almost borderline Dallas (not really but its close enough)
