Posted Thursday December 11, 2008, About: Rutgers AD denies offering resignation
The stupid media is soooooo misleading, it is just rediculous. The actual report said that the Rutgers athletic department did nothing wrong. It may have made some bad decisions that led to overspending, but no action against the department or any individual involved was warrented.
Posted Monday August 11, 2008, About: Rice still helping Rutgers recruit
lendaleusc06,
The title of the article may be misleading. Ray Rice and Courtney Green graduated in the same year from New Rochelle. While Rutgers was recruiting Ray Rice, Ray told them to look at Greene too. Now, Courtney Green is one of the best safties in college football. This is in no way like what happened on the left coast.
Posted Tuesday August 05, 2008, About: Who replaces Rice at Rutgers?
With the threat of the pass with Teel, Underwood, and Britt, you don't need someone like Ray Rice to carry the load. A Rutgers RB won't have to find holes when the defense stacks the box this year. If they do bring 8, you'll see an RU receiver sceaming down the middle of the field for six.

7th in the BE??? Looks like RU is back to sneaking up on people, which is fine by me. Top 3 in the BE.

Shiano will NOT be coaching at PSU next year. PSU fans, if he turned down Michigan, he will turn you down as well. The delusions of Penn State fans are disgusting. Shiano is way too expensive for PSU. A school is not going to add $2 Mil. to the budget when it already thinks it can win when paying a coach a quarter of that. I can't wait until next year when Joe Pa is gone and Rutgers still has their coach. I guess by then, there will be rumors of Shiano going to (your school here). It???s an endless cycle.
Posted Thursday July 10, 2008, About: Rutgers cuts back stadium plan
I don't see why anyone would decommit. They said they are cutting back the plan not stopping it all together. They can probably cut costs in the architectural side. In other words, it might not be as pretty, but it can still hold 13,000 new seats.

Supposed LSU and Ohio State fans calling Rutgers fans bandwagon jumpers. I beleive writers would call that irony.

1st...2006 and 2007 were different years. 9-3 was good enough to make it in 2007 but not in 2006. Besides, you missed my point. Hypothetically speaking, with 2 BCS bids and 2 higher profile bowls (Cap One and Outback), the Big 10 gets 36.3% (4 out of 11) of the conference to New Years Day games. With 2 BCS bids and 1 higher profile game (Gator), the BE gets 37.5% (3/8) to New Years Day games. You see, its very even as far as POTENTIAL for high profile bowl games go.

2nd...I really doubt the administration at PSU is going to just shell out $3.5 Mil. out of the schools budget with out seriously considering promoting from within for half the price.

3rd...You forgot about Miami's 2 appearances. Again, that makes things pretty even. I realize VT and UM are no longer in the BE, but I feel as though the BE bounced back really admirably from losing 3 teams that finished in the top half of the BE standings consistantly.

As soon as Joe Pa retires, PSU losses alot of its prestige. Leaving a program that is making up alot of ground quickly to succeed a legend is not the best of career choices.

pennstatefan111,

1) The reason RU went the Texas Bowl that year was because the Big East had 1 team at 11-1 and 2 at 10-2. Because its the smallest conference, the BE has terrible tie ins after the top two. RU just happened to be the odd man out. Usually only the top 25% of any conference gets to a New Years Day Bowl. Its just harder to get there in the Big East.

2) PSU never paid a coach of any sport more than $1 Million. Why on earth, do you thing PSU will pay Shiano more than RU will?

3) The last time I checked, the Southern Schools are always playing for the NC. The BE has ties to the South, Big10 does not. Why trade recruits from the South for recruits from the Midwest.

Hey PSU fans. Your school is not as mighty and powerful as you all think it is!
